I'm new to the forum. I've been catching up on backlog 'casts while waiting for the next non-Actual Play to go live. I played GURPS with Bill and Stu at college a loooooong time ago, and fed Stu too many chocolate covered espresso beans once. I live in Osaka.

Hi, my name's Joseph and I'm a foodaholic I'm a civil servant, podcaster and RPG player. I also occasionally GM, but it tends to be somewhat disastrous! I heard about Happy Jacks from a different show I listen to, System Mastery, and given that I'm always looking for online groups to join (and tend to fail) this seemed like a good place to be!
When I'm not using my imagination or working, I'm often playing Enter the Gungeon or listening to music. (Usually both). I like to cook but I tend to find it hard to motivate myself to do that. Actually motivation in general is difficult due to my depression, but I try anyway.
So, yeah. Nice to meet you all.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Been listening for a few years. I've been gaming, until recently, in some form since around 1982. Love the show. Maybe one day I'll get around to writing in.

Hi all; Never made a formal intro. I've been listening for a bit over a year, and I occasionally pop into the chatroom during live 'casts when I remember and I'm not exhausted - these tend to start at 11:30p over here on the East Coast of the US. I'm the one running in an unnatural combination of Cortex+/FATE ported over Shadowrun. Thought about writing in, but thinking of things to say on my long commute ends with me forgetting what it was I wanted to ask by the time I'm at work - or it comes down to 'talk to them!'

Hello I'm griever, I am a new listener to the show. I found it on itunes and I need to perpetually add new podcast to fill up the time at work since they let me listen to music on my phone. I still an amature when it comes to tabletop games, not yet being in a capaign that sticks but hopefully one day I find a good group. The rpgs I own are dnd 3.5/4th pathfinder(because of a really good humble bundle.) gurps 4th, BESM,Anima, call of chthulu 5th edition, ironclaw, and maid rpg....need to really get to reading all of those some day.

You have RPG books you haven't even read?! Ah, yes: another adherent to the scripture of Our Divine Lady of the Perpetual Backlog. Welcome! Several more followers rest their pilgrim bones here, myself included.

Yeah I one of those people who like to gather things but not do anything with it......I still have a lot of video games to get to.

Yes, the videogame backlog can become nearly as insidious as the RPG one. However, it can only take an evening to start, play, and abandon a videogame. Usually it takes a couple evenings of reading an RPG book before I'm even ready to play.

Hi all! New to the group and a recent listener to the show. I just interviewed Kimi for an episode of my podcast, which will go up at the beginning of November.
I'm a longtime armchair RPG gamer; I've spent tons of money on books I've never used. I've tried getting back in recently, especially after becomign a fan of Critical Role, but scheduling conflicts torpedoed a Pathfinder game I tried to run via Roll20 with a combination of local and out-of-state friends after the second session. I've been sort-of looking for other players online and you folks look like a cool crew! At the moment I'm just looking to play.
I'm a longtime fan of sleek futures that feature cool machines - I've splurged on Heavy Gear, Jovian Chronicles, Deathwatch and various others, and am currently tempted to get Star Wars: Force & Destiny - but thanks to Critical Role, I've also warmed to that fantasy RPG template of a group of rough-around-the-edges adventurers always keen to see what's over the horizon.
I'm on the East coast of Australia, so US Friday and Saturday evenings are my Saturday and Sunday mornings / lunchtimes, which would probably be the best time for me to meet up with a group!

Greeting and Salutations to my fellow Douches. (Yes, i consider it a proper noun)
This is the first time I have ever posted on a forum so don't get your hopes up. This probably won't be interesting. Vermond said to tell everyone about myself...so....okay.
The first time I played an RPG was when I was 10. I asked an acquaintance to DM a game for me. He helped me make a character and then let me buy all my own gear. I started in a town and followed the "clues" to a cave outside of town. Upon entering the cave, I came to a drop-off. I asked if it would be possible to climb down. He said yes. I said "Okay, I climb down." He asked for a roll. I rolled and failed.
He said "You fall and die. You should have bought a rope."
Fastforward 15 years. D&D 3.5 is a thing and it's fun, I become addicted to watching my friends play. They ask me to DM (God only knows why) and I did.
Fast forward today. I have a 9 page Word document backstory for my first ever character (as a player) since that failure-of-a-human-being killed me in a cave. I can't decide if my character is going to be afraid of caves or the dark....or both.
Lastly, If a genie granted me 3 wishes I would wish for: 1. A bank account that I have unlimited access to, in my name, with 10 billion dollars in it that was not gained through any action I would find offensive. 2. Mankind to achieve the level of humanity that one can see in Star Trek. (Damned bigots ruining space travel for the rest of us) 3. The ability to mentally link others with myself in order to create new realities we all can affect and play in as if in the Matrix but RPG style and without having to LAN cable out brains with wires.

Hi gang, long-time listener. About sixteen different people asked me at Strategicon if I was on the forums, so I'm now on the friggin forums. Happy??
Okay, me... let's see. I was top of my class in Julliard. Not really, I'm actually just a business guy in marketing. BUT! I'm also a novelist. I have one out and another on the way. I also have developed games my whole life. Back in the 90s my RPG group played my homebrew space opera game mostly, though we did really like RIFTS (sans the system). I was dark on RPG for a lot of years, lost in the netherworlds of MMOs for too long until I finally realized I could play again through the WORLD WIDE WEB! So I've been back into it for the past couple years, tackling and publishing in 5E. I have a long series of adventure modules coming as well as a few other projects on the side that will materialize in the coming months.
Looking forward to (as we say in marketing land) engaging with the influencers of this game industry trade community.

Hey all,
Shiny new guy from the deep south in the lost city of New Orleans here. I work in the entertainment industry doing all kinds of things but mostly focusing on carpentry and fabrication. I haven't played in a long term campaign in about four years and that was a FATE game based on Naruto that I adored. Since then I have played a few one shots and DM'd a 5e campaign for a friend but nothing has really satisfied my players itch. I have a tendency to come up with game an character ideas that I would want to play but not GM such as a episodic campaign set in the Futurama Universe for the sake of absurdity or that time I played a psychotic cyber samurai who rolled really well and put on a show of kidney puppet theatre at the end of a gang fight without being a murder hobo. The point is that I am game for anything and can't way to get to know you douchebags.
