Long time listener but this is my first time on the form.
Oh and Kimi, if you read this ever, there is a major artifact called the "Bottle of the Bound" in Pathfinder that when activated functions like a Summon Monster IX. Re-skin that shit as a tinny hairy bag and you have a "Fammilar Pouch".

Hey one and all,
My name's Remi and I've been listening to the podcast since June of 2012. Got through the entire backlog a few weeks ago and enjoyed nearly every moment of it.
I basically found Happy Jacks by chance when I downloaded a new IOS app. It just happened to be one of the podcasts I came across under the games section. Listened to the latest episode and I was hooked.
I haven't played RPGs since late 2006, but I'm hoping to get back into the hobby. Things are pretty busy in my household. I've got three boys aged 6, 4, and 5 months old and I'm looking to introduce them to the hobby soon. I'd love to get my wife involved in RPGs, but she's very reluctant and I don't know if I can ever change that, but I'll keep trying.
I miss roleplaying so much, and your podcast brought back so many fond memories, that I've just got to get my feet wet again. I've got GURPS 4E books at home that need to get worn and torn, and I just ordered Savage Worlds Deluxe Explorer's Ed at my local hobby store. Hope to be gaming again real soon, be it locally or via the Googles.
Thanks for everything and keep up the great work!

Hey folks,
I started listening a bit over a year ago but never got around to registering over here. Name's Brandon, and the handle is the result of living in icy Michigan despite the majority of my online friends living in TX and other southern locales. The fact that I'm a sucker for the "frozen north," trope in fantasy doesn't hurt, either. To avoid another "Deadlands," debacle, we've always pronounced it like you would "Irishman," or "Englishman."
I've been gaming for about 18 years in a huge number of systems, and I dabble in miniature gaming, read a ton (mostly genre stuff), and music.
I'm just your average 30 year old husband, dad, former teacher, current police officer/long-time gamer. Look forward to meeting and chatting with all of you.

About 50 miles N of Detroit. My first job was actually in the city...that was like power leveling.

I grew up right across the state - the Benton Harbor region.
That's place has degraded into a demilitarized zone... You could LARP New Vegas there these days.

There were actually talks of a zombie theme park being put in. It was a pretty incredible idea for turning some of the decaying areas into a resource, but it got shot down.

Well, I hate these introductory posts even though I made posting an introduction a requirement for access to my forum for business when I was still in business. How is that for hypocrisy, eh? I am not sure what to say except read my posts if you want to get to know me and my opinions.... I believe in the absolute power of the GM to either fuck up or organize the fun in a role-playing game regardless of game “ system” being rules light or heavy, fluffy or crunchy; that the hobby suffers from being all things to everyone but something to no-one due the hobby industry’s multiple personality schizophrenia disorder; that the industry is wrongheaded thinking players owe it anything; that the Dungeons & Dragons brand still represents both the hobby and the industry; that “new player” is a separate and a distinct category from “new-to-the-hobby” player, the former term reflecting D&D players to Pathfinder conversion while the latter term promotes the hobby to potential players with no prior experience to any RPG; that the hobby should be promoted to the latter group according to the actual benefits of playing RPGs rather than any one game’s features; that player engrossment at the table matters far more to the shared fantasy of RPG than all the mechanics in the world. When I write, I am writing my opinion and shun smiley faces. I know The Internet is supposed to be this modern day oracle and we are all Mercury, basking in the flickering eradiation of anonymous ignorance but I do not think much more than opinion is ever filtered here and if you cannot judge my writing without a pictogram then perhaps critical reading is not for you in the first place. Always appeal to your strengths! Writing a bunch of in my opinion and I think before I lay out my ideas is sort of like moving one's lips when reading, only suggesting that I usually speak absolute truth and, therefore, because of my false modesty you best care about my opinions. IMHO, of course. Writing is an extension of the thought process so I tend to write long posts, re-read and edit them and put some thought behind them. It also means that writing is a process of understanding oneself as well as the subject of the writing so feel welcome to jump in and offer up your own opinion. Just let your “I think” be subsumed by the forethought you give to your post. Originally I am from the country of Quebec where I wrote bad fantasy and better crime fiction; watched the Saturday morning D&D cartoon and, later, Galaxy Rangers; played AD&D 1e, Boothill, Star Frontiers, Top Secret, Cyberpunk, some Star Wars, Villains and Vigilantes, and Shadowrun. Until my religion decreed AD&D an unforgivable sin and I lost my heathen group. Today I live in Warsaw, Poland. I am retired, write creative stories, re-watch the cartoons on DVD, and play RPGs with foreigners I assembled together. I am a disciple of Gary Gygax’s RPG play style making playing a role a core prerequisite of my game where the dice limit my response to my players and not the other way around. I am unilingual English speaking. pigsinspaces there are a few Irish in Warsaw, Poland I have not been able to reach through the Adventuring Party or directly via the expat forums where Poland is a topic of interest. Lots of Irish construction people and bridegrooms over here. We’re always welcoming new foreigners in Poland to our RPG group if they would like to relax and meet people rather than min-max or rules lawyer.

Aww, as a current resident of Manistee, I was enjoying the Michigan chat! :-) -Freyki- MI hijinks continue => Took my kids up to Orchard Beach Park for several days this summer. Very pretty place. We went to Ludington a few years ago. Anyway, I don't think I ever posted here before so... I live in Saint Louis, MO. I don't game as often as I'd like. and currently Savage Worlds and FATE are my favourite rulesets. I love doing setting conversions. I wrote a (IMO) cool Dark Sun conversion for Savage Worlds. I used to do play by post a lot, but it has lost it's appeal somehow. I need to get a regular G+ game going, but don't know when I'd do that. I currently fill my desire for gaming with a lot of podcasts. including actual-play.
