As I said above, they had more games submitted than there is room for. I could have resubmitted for Monday, but my schedule that day is a little iffy. I'm just grumbling that's all.
I'll submit earlier next time. There will be broadsides and boarding actions at Gamex.

The Top Secret game was full within like 3 minutes of Pre-Reg opening! My electrons were too slow. You're right, prereg is automatically set to half the capacity. Why this is the default behavior continues to mystify me. As I said above, they had more games submitted than there is room for. If nothing else, I appreciate your mentioning it because I had never really considered that a possibility - I don't recall a con ever turning down games for lack of space, and there seems to always be empty tables (admittedly, though, most of my con experience is with much smaller, local events).

Just completed the play test for my Savage Worlds game for the con, "The Gatling Decision" and it went well. Here's a few pics from the table I will be using. A few highlites you can expect from this game... 1. You get to choose from a list of hindrances. 2. .45 caliber shells for bennies 3. Old west saloon, playing cards (for in character poker game and initiative. [/img] Attachments:

With prereg going so fast, it sounds like there are some folks who were left out in the cold... I didn't submit this in time for it to appear on the schedule, but I'm wondering if there is any interest in this game, which would (of course) be run in the Open Gaming room (or someplace quieter if that can be arranged): Title: THIS GAME IS ON RAILS! Game System: Savage Worlds, Space 1889, Red Sands Description: Phobos! The train that cirlces the tiny, irregular moon on a closed loop to provide the inhabitants with occasional earth-normal gravity is accellerating at an alarming rate. Can you make it forward to the engine car before you're pinned to the floor ceiling? (While avoiding <obstacle> and finding <macguffin>?) We've got 4 hours to find out! GM: Frank Romeo (aka joemorf on twitter and elsewhere*.) Time: Saturday, 9am (which is the only free slot I have which also allows for the possibility of this game being hyped during the podcast ) * Long time lurker, first time poster. (My intro post was on the old board.) You may have heard me on the podcast that was recorded at the last Orccon. I started gaming during the Carter Administration. I've GM'd at 4 previous Strat'cons, ran an oWoD MeT LARP for a few years, and have a strong background in "Yes, and!" Also, if we do this at 9am on Saturday, I promise to down 4 shots of espresso before the game. Sunday afternoon, however, is not entirely out of the question if folks prefer.

There was commentary from Mike Fryar of Strategicon about this time last year to the point that they only allow most games to have half of the table pre-register so that people who show up at the con have games to get into as well. This logic makes perfect sense to me especially since with this community games would fill up fast as we have seen. They set Happy Jacks related games to double capacity so all the slots can actually preregister. That said, it is up to the gm to put in the game properly when they register it. I know that in my stupidity I messed up one of my games for OrcCon and had to get them to fix it for me. I THINK that they try to have two games per room but that's purely anecdotal on my part. Just my aged and failing memory talking it may be total bullshit. JiB

I hope the 2 games per room will be cool. I know that I get a little loud when I'm DMing and get into the characters, so I hope not to annoy the other game going on, and visa-versa.
Still only have 1 person to pre-reg for my game. come on ya'll! this adventure will kick some serious ass. it will be a show!

Usually at some point something will happen at a table and everything at the other table stops for a second or two while everyone looks over to see what cool thing just happened. I wish I could play in your game Andy (heck I wish I could play in all the games) but I'm running opposite you Friday night. Most of us usually hang out in the hotel bar on Friday evening before the 8pm games. Come find us there. I'll be dashing in briefly. JiB

A couple conventions ago, some of the rooms were set up with THREE tables per room.
I never saw active games at all three tables at once, but it would get loud having three tables of role-players in one room.

I'll definitely stop by at the bar on Friday before the games at 8pm to say hello. I also pre-registered for Stu's Savage worlds on Sat. afternoon in case some of ya'll will be there too.

There are a metric fuckton of awesome games at the con both ours (Happy Jacks community) and others. Should be lots of really great gaming going on. JiB
