Good news, everyone! www.evilhat.com/home/coming-soon-fate-core/Fate is my second favorite rules set. It is a distant second, but considering I went like 15 years without a second favorite at all, that should tell you something. Very happy to see this, and can't wait to throw gobs of money at them.

It is exciting.
I am a bit more excited about the Atomic Robo RPG, but FATE core is definitely on my 'to purchase' list.

I cannot wait to give Atomic Robo a try, but I will almost certainly be funding the FATE core as well. I've never had the opportunity to play in a FATE game, so I'm looking forward to giving the core rules a read through!

FATE Core is not FATE 3.1 or 3.5 so to speak. Correct? Do we expect an evolution similar to [FATE 2.0 to FATE 3.0] in [FATE 3.0 to FATE Core]? How different do we think it'll be?

If I wasn't at work and the file transfer site wasn't blocked, I would read the draft of the new FATE CORE and tell you. draft rules available IMMEDIATELY to backers. ($1 and up).

45 dollars of my money is now in their hands, or will be in two months when it closes. Now they need to produce more Fudge/Fate dice.

I've only had a chance to browse through the draft before bed, but Me Likee.

Agree, I've looked through it just a bit, and it is sweet! I really like the skill descriptions with the uses, and putting some applicable stunts roght there with the skills. I'm also really excited about some of the stretch goals that have been hit already.
Much like Dinocalypse Now, this KS is putting out a ton of material.
Who's running FATE core over G+ ?

I like that they basically took the best parts from FATE 3.0 and the Dresden Files and combined them and streamlined the while thing.
The addition of an advancement system means the game can better serve for longer campaign style games. The smaller number of Aspects also helps alleviate some of the decision paralysis I know my players had when we played FATE, and less aspects and FATE points also makes them more important.
Hoping to run a test game with my group sometime soon to test out the changes.

Scaling it back like that also makes the 'FATE on the fly' easier to do, and not so daunting.
I haven't made it through the advancement rules yet. I'll surely have some time at work though...

I haven't even gotten to character creation yet, but I already like what I'm seeing. I've never played any incaranation of FATE, and if I want to play this with any of my normal groups, I'll have to be the one to run it, but from what I've read so far, I'm not intimated to run a one-shot having never played before. That could change as I finish going through the rules, but that's a good sign for me so far.
