Stu says he thinks what's going to happen is my game is that I'll get roped into a new one. What do I think is going to happen?
I think that someone is going to tell him about this episode and he's going to get pissed at me and kick me out of the game. That's what I think. Oh well.
Oh and btw Ohio is a one party consent state for recordings. As long as one party involved in the recording is aware of it and consents to it, no one has any recourse.

Maybe everyone should have different code names they use when sending gaming nightmares.
Ooh. Or everyone who sends them needs to sign them "Gary."

Fuckin Gary!
The convo on Super high Int score made me think of the Dresden book where Harry could not understand what some super entity was talking about so he gets Bob too translate,it is still so far above Bob's head that the entity has to dumb it down for Bob to understand then Bob has to dumb it down even more so Harry could understand it. Trying not to be spoilerish.

The wand of wonder is fucking brilliant - the best RPG moment of the last month: all the other players standing up and screaming "Noooo" as the PC magic user (depleted of spells) pulls it out. later the dwarf fighter turns to the now 'diminished' magic user "it's supposed to be the weapon of last resort not your fucking default go to" (so far, in four sessions he's managed to fireball the party, enlarge 2 foes, stinking cloud the party again, diminish himself twice, grow grass inside a dungeon room and slow the big bad (the one useful result which honestly prevented a TPK with that final die roll, this redeeming him in the eyes of the fellow players). As to intelligence: I'm testing a method using actual ability checks (I'm trying to make all abilities matter so as to prevent 'dump stats'). For intelligence I use it to let the player recall key pieces of information or clues eg: the brigands that attacked PC's were meet earlier disguised as merchants on the road: after defeating them during their raid on the PC camp site the player rolled an intelligence check to recall that the unique tattoo on one of the brigands arms looked very similar to that noticed on one of the 'merchants' meet earlier. On another occasion it was used to allow them to correctly recall an earlier NPC conversation . . . Because the actual players had got the directions back to front when trying to remember what was said. Other abilities have other uses though defining the uses for wisdom is still a bit of a grey area - it overlaps with intelligence sometimes . . . But it does prevent 'dump' stats when all the PC's have cause to use their abilities for things other than 'combat' and 'class function'. Aaron PS I don't know about the Pathfinder Rod of Wonder but the 'original' wand of wonder wasn't "always awesome" - more 30% useful (fireball) 30% bad (diminish user) 30% useless (grass grows on a large area or existing grass grows longer) and 10% weird shit (a swarm of butterflies erupts from the wand)

To Guido:
You said that there were some other players that were unhappy. What you should do is take some of that large group and have one of them start a game during that same time slot. That is if any of them would be willing to GM. Or run something in a system that is light on prep, such as Inspectres.

I love how Stork thinks that nothing bad can happen with a Rod of Wonder...

I think we had some confusion (At least Stork and I did) about the actual functioning of the Rod of Wonder. I haven't looked it up yet, but I know I was going from half remembered knowledge and was probably wrong.

Thanks for the self-affirmation on it being okay to stick with some general similarities between characters. I've always been a little self-conscious about the fact that I always seem to end up the leader, and my characters generally have some semblance of a code ("No women, no kids.") even if they're supposed to be evil. I've stretched out a lot from when my college friends and I deemed a strong of characters I played, "Aragorn McMan-on-Fire," but that's just what my personality leans toward. I'm often in leadership roles in real life from sports when I was younger to my career, and there are certain things in the world that bother me enough so as not to even be fun to pretend to do.
Speaking of evil...I've found that I really don't enjoy that side of gaming. It's a shame, too, because the few times I've been talked into going that way I've been told it was a lot of fun for everyone to watch, and that I'm not too bad at it.
There's some kinda sex joke in there...

Our WoW wielder (dammit WOTC missed a great IP acronym...) first made butterflies against a pack of Stone Giants but the next blast brought the charging elephants and things took a truly epic turn!

The Auatralian entertainer with the Ostrich puppet (called Ozzy). Daryl Summers was his name, from memory, and he was as entertaining to adults vis a vis he hosted, with Ozzy, a long running show in Oz called Hey Hey It's Saturday Night - on, um, Saturday night. It was manic, chaotic and it wasn't really for kids Aaron
