Hello all I feel the shadow run section isn't getting enough love, and with the upcoming games coming out there needs to be more attention to one of the greatest games ever made, specifically 2nd edition with vr2 rules added. Over the next few weeks, months I'd like to make some tutorials of how mechanics work and explain things that seem like they don't work in the first place. Things like, "how does Foci work? How do chase scenes play out? Most importantly, can a decker really function in a squad and run matrix stuff on the fly? If anyone has any questions or topics toward this please post them. I've been playing SR2 since it release and it is my flagship game as I've ran countless runners through the sprawl over the past 15-16 years.

I haven't played SR2 for years, since I switched to SR3 (which I ran a 4 year campaign in).
From what I remember the explosive rules didn't make sense, something like 3kg of C12 explosive struggled to knock a hole in a standard house wall. But the bouncing grenade of chunky-salsa would vaporise Samurai in an enclosed space.
I am looking forward to seeing these tutorials.

I will cover whatever you guys want to know. As far as Jackercon... I've never played online before, but I am very interested in trying. So the first topic will be explosive damage(c4.) I will have a reply shortly.

You gonna run something for Jackercon ? Cuz I haven't been a street samurai or a rigger in YEARS ?? Riggers were possibly my favorite class in 2nd. Every time I think of the ultimate rigger I think of Stevenson's super-van guy(can't remember his name right now. Where he is basically a torso in a garbage can with multiple life support systems and a super-rigged-out van attached to him. So awesome!

But the bouncing grenade of chunky-salsa would vaporise Samurai in an enclosed space. I am looking forward to seeing these tutorials. Lets just cover type IV plastic. The damage for type iv is ((rating) x √kilograms)D; "D=Deadly damage" Where rating = the user's demolition skill, and the thing that sets plastic apart from grenades is every meter of range the rating goes down by one, but still stays at the Deadly damage level. Plastic used by someone with a demolitions of say 5 or 6 can be very deadly indeed as they can place 2-3 kilos(4-5lbs) specifically in a way to do the max damage. The thing with explosives over grenades is that the way they are formed and placed is how they damage things. So someone with the ability in explosives will do more damage over just a grenade. Also there isn't any sort of scatter from placed explosives either.
