"Stoneage" ? . . . Nah that's just the Oker way - 'why reinvent the wheel when there's beer to be drunk' (or 'why use both sides of a piece of toilet paper') Aaron

I've dealt with this issue for a while. When another player has my copy of the savage worlds rulebook (why doesn't he just buy his own, it's only ten freakin dollars) and I want to quick reference a rule, I'll use my phone. Until recently, this was a great way to up my angst quotient. I've gotten to the point where I can reference almost any rule in the book in seconds by flipping through. I can't do this in most pdf readers because they don't "flip" very well.
After some research I found a free app called "EbookDroid". I've yet to see a faster loading pdf reader. It loads the pages in a sequence of blank, blurry (which is admittedly hella blurry) and crystal clear. It takes between two and 5 seconds to load the blurry image and another 2 to 3 to load the crystal clear image. Instead of locking to each page, it displays as continuous. The skimming function isn't slowed down by loading so as soon as it becomes clear I'm not in the right place, I can move on. I can skim almost as fast with this app as I can on paper. Almost.
Of course, when I cracked my wod core this morning I was greeted by the musty smell of ageing paper. Can't get that from a pdf.

For reference, I have a galaxy s3, I don't know how that compares hardware-wise to the tablets you have.
