If scubasteve can't make it to the game, you're still an alternate, maxinstuff. Unless you figure you're already doing enough gaming in JackerCon and bow out. Which is cool. ... If you want to hurt my feelings. By the way, once you've registered for a spot in a JackerCon game, is it possible to unregister yourself? I know @shoe said he can't play due to RL, but he's still listed as being in a seat. Just curious.

So it seems to be sorted out EDIT: I am available to play, my comment was concerned with fairness to other players. If someone else drops - I am there. I meant to just get across the point that I will still get to play in other games so don't feel like you have to squeeze an extra into what is meant to be a 4 player game. That's an hour of awesome each - far be it from me to dilute that

Thanks for that, guitarspider. Good to know the system works. Gotcha, maxinstuff. I thought you had changed your mind about playing Dungeon World. I've never run an AW-based game with more than three players, though next week I'll be running Monster of the Week with four. Due to how these games work, I think it would be pretty tough to run an AW-based game with more than four players. Especially a game like Monsterhearts. I was in a four player game of MH, and there was a lot of down time, as the MC (GM) had to juggle between four, largely separate, storylines. D.T. Pints, Forresst, and scubasteve can back me up on this, but it is very easy for the PCs in Monsterhearts games to go off in completely separate directions. Monsterhearts is, at it's core, a PvP game that actively encourages the players to be shitty to one another. Yet if the players don't find reasons to be in the same scenes with each other, the game becomes a collection of three or four one player, one GM games. Apocalypse World is similar. While the game doesn't encourage PvP as much as Monsterhearts does, there is no real incentive to work as a team. Dungeon World is slightly different though. The characters are expected to be a team and to work together. If you backstab someone (literally or figuratively) in DW, the other player will be like "Dude, you're a dick! Knock it off!" But if you do that in Monsterhearts the other player will either be like "Yeah, I had that coming." or "Dude, watch your back from now on." Probably both. Still, I'm curious to try running DW with five players one of these days.

There were only a couple of very bad spots and they didn't last long. I enjoyed the AP quite a bit. It was fun to hear Gimble's first adventure and Esteban was a blast. I guess Chris did an okay job GMing as well. I look forward to hearing the other one I wasn't in.

Well if by that you mean "not as stupid" I assure you I am just as stupid as you were lead to believe. And now I'm just embarrassed to hear my own cast. I remember I had a shitty day and wasn't in the mood, but I wasn't going to flake on Chris. I pulled an old character out of head to play and then I was happy I didn't flake because it turns out I fucking love me some Dungeon World. And playing with people around the world is awesome. I do remember being completely shocked when Gimble started working his magic and I loved how all the players we're playing stupid characters. It was me, jfever, and ironikki. I'm sure the audio will be terrible too, but I don't remember many mishaps that night.

If it's any consolation malifer, I couldn't tell you'd had a shit day during the game. I had absolutely no clue until you brought it up just now. But I'm totally with you. Sometimes you (in the collective sense) are simply not in the mood to participate in this weird little hobby we call role playing. I've had those days myself. Glad you decided to play, and really glad you had a great time. I love me some Dungeon World too! I still feel a bit bad about the Tomb of the Faceless One session, though. It was still loads of fun, especially since you all defeated the Big Bad with a pair of golden salad tongs. I'm still chuckling about that half a year later. But that session showed me the dangers of relying too much on a map when GMing. Instead of allowing your ideas to affect the setting, I found myself thinking "There can't be a secret door/trap/whatever there, because something else is already there." That made making GM Moves tricky, as I was allowing the map to limit my options, rather than changing the map to fit my moves. Finally, after you guys fought that giant Bone Construct-thingy is when I said "Fuck it!" and threw the map out. That trap door and tunnel leading to the final crypt was all pulled completely out of my ass.

Well I'm glad I didn't appear like an asshat as a first impression , but it honestly wasn't that long before the game and group got me in a better mood. A few minutes in and I was glad I was gaming. The Tomb was a blast. And don't worry about any "No you can't" GMing you remember that just added to the Old School Feel.
