It was indeed swashbuckler . . . I knew the concept existed somewhere. Now to find a copy thank you Aaron

I'm really enjoying the Musketeers show, although we have a couple to catch up on. Then again, I pretty much like most versions of the Three Musketeers, from the really good to the really corny.

I enjoyed this last episode, delving further into the background of Porthos and his childhood in the Court of Miracles. It would make a great setting for a game! I may steal the plot for a con game.

This show is a lot of fun. But I'll watch just about anything with sword fighting and fancy hats!

I'm thoroughly enjoying The Musketeers. The main characters all seen to having tremendous fun 'buckling their swash', so the series has a sense of fun and a nice line in dry humour lacking in some other Sunday night TV fare. Some critics have unfavourably compared it to Game of Thrones (yes, Grace Dent, I'm looking at you!), which is like comparing Midsomer Murders to The Wire. Not everything needs to be dark, violent and angsty. It can be fun, violent and suave too! Yeah +1: no incest, no wieners (floppy or otherwise), everyone doesn't die all the time, no magic, no walking dead, no dragons . . . so (Gracie) the similarity to GoT lies where exactly? It has actors perhaps? . . . Aaron For Americans, we think anything where there's big drama, fancy accents, and no guarantee of a happy ending counts as part of the same oeuvre: foreign This just showed up in our local video rental store (yes, we still have those in Japan; streaming has only showed up in the last year or two). It's a "NEW" rental. I'll be getting it when it comes down in price.
