Seriously, I might as well just let Fred over at Evil Hat Direct Debit my account. Oh yeah, I could sign up for that Patreon, then they would...
Haven't finished reading this yet, but loving it. I clearly didn't understand the 'modes' until I read the description in this book.
I'll write more later, but I'm off and running on how easy it would be to use Modes to pretty easily do conversions for most settings.
JiB - I don't know how your 'Eclipse Fate' game is set up, but it feels like modes could fill the morph slot pretty nicely.
Must read more robo.

Just finished a bunch of sleepless nights reading this--it's very well written. If you want to learn Fate, if you want good GM advice for Fate, if you like Atomic Robo, etc. every single one of those reasons are valid for buying this book.

I've gotten to play it run by the guy who wrote it and it is every bit as much fun as it looks. My copy is long since been ordered. Yeah between Fred and Shane I really should just give up on saving for retirement. JiB

I own the majority of the Fate Core centric games now I think. Anything particularly stand out about Atomic Robo that means I should pre-order it? I'm not much for the print copies of stuff so I might just wait for the PDF only but I did see some neat stuff about Mega-Stunts? Anything else like that?

So, here's the highlights (as I see them)
1) Atomic Robo art and comments (along Dresden Files lines) throughout. => Doctor Dinosaur stepping in and making anti-mammal and pro-crystal technology comments for the win!
2) Modes - I think this is a really clean and clear method of quickly building PCs. (the modes concept was presented in the FATE system toolkit ,or something like that, so while the concept isn't new, it's a very nice presentation). They also (in a good way) get me thinking about Strange Skills (from Strange FATE/Kerberos Club/Base Raiders).
3) Mega Stunts - atomic robo is 'absolutely' immune to bullets, etc. Really sweet, might be able to get a similar feel from Venture city stories, but...
4) Collateral consequences - I haven't seen these used to much effect prior to this, and for more powerful (physically) characters, I think this is sweet. And they will come back to bite you.
Short version - it sounds like you're buying the book regardless, so then I think it's just personal preference as to if you want print or not. Also, do you want it NOW? or in late June? I thought it was worth it, but I'm a sucker for both Atomic Robo and Evil Hat, so my first thought when I saw the preorder, was... Only $35! done.

Thanks for the overview, soon as the PDF came up for sale I snatched it!
Haven't had a chance to read through it yet but really looking forward to it. Mega Stunts really draw my attention the most, as I've played some Venture City Stories and really enjoyed it, but I could see how this is useful.. Hopefully, there's a game for it during JackerCon!
