So everyone is pissed off about the wrong things here...
Beer talk being removed from the show makes me a sad panda. I can't remember, but I might have brought it up in the survey. I liked the seasonal recommendations that showed up occasionally. It doesn't need to be every episode, but it was one of the fun things that drew me to the show way back. That and the fun-natured raunchiness, which I'm sure no one else liked either, but dammit, I did because the show is for adults and it made me laugh.
I think it was season 12, episode 11 where someone wrote in about beer and I almost came to the forum just to say, "YES! BEER IS BACK! My favorite summer beer is Porch Rocker." BTW, drink it - it's fabulous.

On the subject of dealing with problem players. Singularly the most jarring to me wasn't the player in question, but allow me to illustrate:
We had a player who was half of a couple, she was kind of quiet and didn't contribute all that much but she tried and she didn't cause trouble, he had anger issues and and a tendency to be immature. This rather reached a head when he over turned a chair and almost threw his dice when something didn't go his way. During the following week I had discussions with several other players and it was decided that I was going to have a grown up conversation with him and explain the problem and give him one, and only one, chance to fix the problem himself. The next game session rolls around and one of the other players arrives early for the game. No worries about that, but he said, "I have a pistol on me just in case things get out of hand with <name deleted>." "WTF," says I, "First off give me the pistol." After unloading the pistol keeping the magazine and locking both away, I told him he could have it back after the game, and if he ever brought a weapon into my home again he would no longer be welcome.
Don't get me wrong here, I have nothing against guns, I enjoy shooting, but do not bring a weapon into my home and certainly not without asking my permission first.
The problem player walked in a bit after that already apologizing and said that he had been to see a therapist that week and they were working on the problem, and could he apologize to the group at the start of the game. I couldn't ask for more than that. The guy with the gun though he and I had a serious problem. He didn't stay with us long after that.

So everyone is pissed off about the wrong things here... +1 to continued beer talk... my recent favorite has been Session Black, the Trader Joe's cheapo dark lager ($6 6-pack)... it's tasty like the dark Japanese beers (Asahi Black, etc.) but cheaper and found easily in these parts. But yes, by all means do not curtail those conversations from the show...

I'm not a beer drinker myself, and I have been known to fast-forward when the talk delves at length into the nuances of maltiness versus hoppiness, or roll my eyes when every single e-mail in a show contains a beer rec. But having no talk of beer at all just doesn't make it feel like the same podcast, and I certainly don't mind it coming up once in a while. It even helped me appreciate the beer festival episode of the Inukai game. (I had thought you were refraining from beer chat out of respect for poor Stu's diet, and hadn't realized you were deliberately censoring it.)
So yeah, beer talk in moderation is okay IMHO.

The beer-talk critics are laying low right now. They are very vocal when their ire is roused. I'll loosen the lease a bit, but you'll see...

I also appreciate the occasional beer talk, genial raunchiness and immature shenanigans. Most shows achieve an admirable balance of entertainment and information. Seems to me that the sweet spot for both fun and function is 3-5 hosts.

D.T. Pints Did you hear when stork suggested we start a podcast about beating a dead horse? I don't think he has listened to our podcast. Stu Venable Just a quick thought that maybe you could suggest on air if you like. Ask people to break up the combo question/comment/story letter. I think some people might be intimidated by editing. But suggesting they write an email with just one item on the agenda instead of an question and a story might be easier. They could send the second half later. But keeping it shorter this way will at least keep it in the pile of emails you are considering.

Stu VenableI agree Apocalypse World is written by a teenage boy. It's a shame because Baker also wrote Dogs in the Vineyard which is excellent. That means he wrote AW like a 14 year old on purpose. I couldn't finish reading it and I don't plan on subjecting myself to it in the future. On the other hand I have enjoyed all the AW Hacks I have read.
