Hay, Iv been running afew 5e games and iv noticed there are not alot of low-is lv monsters. Seems like half the damn book is dragons. So i have been doing alot of re-skining, such as using orc as a drug crazed roided cultist and so on. But i would love to see more monsters that people have actually home brewed.
Also if any one has stumbled across a website with alot of 5e monsters, thta would be helpful to.

Have your players look inside, and realize that they are the monsters.
But seriously I started making up stats for monsters in general. I eventually pulled out a 4e bestiary, found things that looked cool, and made up stats

Thanks for the sites. I'm all about the re-skining but I'm hesitant to just make my own monsters due to the fact that i could accidentally created something hideously over powered,TPKing my players. I like to leave the number crunching to other people when at all possible.

I reskinned the Kuo Toa for a CR4 fight, with some added abilities. Imagine a 4ft tall, egg-shaped, waddling creature with no mouth. Just a fold of fat at about the mid section. They have fins on their backs for swimming quickly but only have a walk speed of 2. They look completely innocent, with big anime eyes and they speak in chirps and squeaks.
The encounter starts before combat with them innocently coming out of nowhere in a sewer or watery cavern. They show curiosity at the newcomers and are very timid until enough have shown to outnumber the party. When they have sufficient numbers or the party is divided well enough, they attack.
They have a swimming bull rush attack that grants them advantage if more than 1 attack the same character in a turn. successful bull rushes knock characters prone. If a character is prone or sufficiently surrounded they use their tentacle attack. The fold of fat at their midsection lifts to reveal a mouth that almost doubles their height when completely open. Inside is several grabbing tentacles and a 10ft one with a gnashing mouth at the end. A successful attack deals minor damage but automatically grapples. Each turn they start grappled, they deal continuous damage to anyone wearing less than heavy armor. If a character is affected by more than one grab, their attacks are at a disadvantage. The tentacles represent 1/4 of the creatures health.
Add that these Grinners attack in thigh high water(difficult terrain) and you have a relatively interesting combat. AOE spellcaster and a cleric might make this a bit easier, but if you can get 4 on one character, shit gets real, really fast.
