So. I picked up FATE Core today. Not the PDF - I've had that for a while - and I've also had FATE Accelerated for a while. But I'd never actually bought the FATE Core book. Now I have, and suddenly I want to grow my hair long... weird. Anyway, I've been reading over it for the last hour or so and... the "Game Creation" chapter? That's some good stuff. Whether or not I wind up a FATE-loving, tie-dye wearing hippie, I can see myself using that chapter to create settings for other games. Eh, you know, for whatever that's worth.

If you get the chance check out city creation for Dresden. Some great stuff there that is applicable elsewhere, too.

Kinda weird how people start liking things after they read/play/experience them, huh?

Another really cool game to steal from is Night's Black Agents. It is a Vampire Spy Thriller game. Elements to look for are about how they structure the vampire conspiracy by creating charts that give an idea of the structure of their organization and how issues will escalate organically. I could see it being a really cool way to set a coterie on the path to taking down some sort of bad dudes in your LaByFire game Probie Tim.

Hard to find now, but if your into collaborative setting creation Starblazer Adventures had some good stuff geared toward a more Buck Rogers feel. I think it's out of print and not being sold via pdf anymore, but I'm sure some people have copies.

Kinda weird how people start liking things after they read/play/experience them, huh? Savage Worlds is still easier to run than HEX.
