I dunno how many of you are following the Chaosium/RuneQuest news, but it looks like Design Mechanism are on the outs and Chaosium is going to release the next version of RuneQuest based on their RQ2 instead of Design Mechanism's RQ6. Much as did Mongoose with Legend, Design Mechanism is going to release the RQ6 system as a stand-alone game with a different name.

RuneQuest is fun. If I can get the dates straightened out and the Kickstarter finishes on schedule, I'm going to run some for Jackercon.

Runequest is probably my most favorite game that I've never run. It's just so easy to die, but the world is so very incredibly awesome I want to play/run anyway. But it's so easy to die....
Roman expansion, cursed races that threatened the world, and ducks. What more could you want in a game?

I may be throwing myself onto the pikes and spears of the faithful, but I've never been a big Glorantha fan. I prefer to run my RQ in a fantasy Earth, a la RuneQuest 3 (but I include cool Glorantha creatures like ducks, broo, walktapi, and the like).
I once played a Scottish duck in a fantasy Earth RQ3 game. He wore a little kilt and tam and everything, and wielded a standard broadsword like it was a huge claymore. I went for the silly with Cormac MacQuackin, heh.
