Alright, I've got Forresst's introduction of Arabella. Good stuff. Once we get introduced to joecrak, fredrix, Probie Tim, shadrack, and gina's characters, we'll go start distributing Strings over on the RPoL.net forums.

Katrina moved into town a few years ago, but around school she's mostly know for her position as captain of the swim team, and having recently set a new record for the high school. She became widely known for being involved in a boating accident this past summer, in which it was thought she was drowned but luckily had been found washed up on the shore, whereas her boyfriend at the time, Carter Stanfield, has yet to be found. She generally dresses nice, mixing in a hint of old world fashion into her apparel. [Her creation occurred during the boating accident, in which she had fallen overboard while drinking with Carter, and something inside of her snapped, blaming him for her drowning. When she resurfaced, he was relieved, until she dragged him under with her.]

So...I know we have a Rpol thing set up. but HyveMynd have you checked out Tavern Keeper? Because, i've been fiddling around, and, for me, it's so much easier to use. It took me like, a few days to even realize i had a character sheet in out monsterHearts page.

Derp. Yeah. Exactly like that joecrak. Sorry. I need to collect those in a sticky or something. I agree that RPoL.net is kind of cunfusing. But as everyone has signed up there, I'm kind of reluctant to say "OK! Now let's all switch!"

If, after we've tried it out for a bit, everyone decides they don't like RPoL, we'll move to something else.

Morgelyn had been on land before of course. Back home, across the ocean. It was a thing young Selkies dared each other to do. Skinny-landing. To slough their pelt and transform. To become like the timid creatures who hardly ever ventured into the MotherSea, hardly ever immersed themselves in her waters, but bobbed about on its surface or dabbled in the littoral shallows. They would carefully hide their pelts, telling each other tales of what terrible things happen to a Selkie if a two-legger were to find and steal it.
But they always returned to the Bob safely.
Here, on this side of the Ocean, without her Bob around her, she was less carefull. She'd let the MotherSea take her across the ocean in a playful spirit. Up by the icy-cold north seas and then down this foreign coast. Her plan had been to wander further south and eventually to let the warmer currents, carry her back home. She'd played for a few summer days in the waters around what she has come to know now, as Rackham's Spit. And been intrigued by a two-legged woman who, every day would sit in a little glass-walled house on a promontory, painting the sea. Her eyes had meet those of the artist. And Morgelyn, being Morgelyn, had played for her attention. Curious to see if she now featured in the woman's paintings, she had, one dusk, ventured onto land, naked and two-legged after hiding her pelt. But with no other Bob-mates keeping at look out, a two-legger had stolen it.
So now, the people of this small town have come to know her as Morgelyn, the strangely accented cousin, who lived with (another PC's family?). And she was forced to keep up this charade until she could retreive her pelt. She will do anything to get it back.

All right. Let's give this a shot. Tomas Pontailler Hot: 2 Cold: 1 Volatile: -1 Dark: -1 Vampire moves: Hypnotic, Marked for the Hunt The Pontaillers are a family of old money and means in the area. Most are vampires. Tomas is their youngest son (although this is his third run as "youngest son", as he was turned some time ago but just looks young). As with all the Pontaillers, Tomas can survive sunlight if he is well fed and takes some minor precautions (long sleeves, sunglasses, hoodie/hat, etc.) Is there anything I'm missing? Anything off or not-quite-right? Eyes: piercing, ice blue. Look: Tomas is a very handsome lad, with chiseled, sharp features and wind-blown, shoulder-length, black hair. He tends to wear dark grey jeans, a black hoodie (pulled up over his head), sunglasses, and tennis shoes. But, coming from a family of great means, they're the most expensive dark grey jeans, black hoodie, sunglasses, and tennis shoes (think, like these: www.giuseppezanottidesign.com/us/c/THE-SHARK-3-0/p/RM6117002 but in dark grey). As one of the Pontaillers, Tomas walks around like he owns the place... and probably, there's a good chance that someone in his family actually does own the place, especially in the environs surrounding the Pontailler estate. He was born into the mortal Pontailler family about seventy-five years ago, and embraced into the vampire Pontaillers as a young man. How much background information are you looking for, HyveMynd? I'm a big proponent of RPOL, I've used it a lot. It is a bit confusing at first, but it gives you a lot of functionality for running PbP games. The only real downside (other than the look-and-feel) is that PCs can't create threads, they all have to be started by the GM. I always created, like, an OOC chatter thread and a few "generic" threads for PCs to use.

Isabelle Croft (goes by Izzy), The Mortal
None of them would understand. What you have here, in this dark and secret place, it’s beautiful. They’d warn you that this sort of beauty is dangerous, like a raging fire. Well some things are worth getting burned for. Love has eclipsed all hope. And the dark has left you feeling beautiful.
Hot +2 Cold -1 Volatile -1 Dark +1
Look/Origin: beautiful in a non-traditional way, awkward, maybe a little strange/out of step, dark hair, doe eyes, the new girl in town.
Moves: True Love. You always have exactly one lover. The first is chosen during your backstory. If you ever fall in love with someone else instead, give them a String and they become your new lover. You always carry it forward to earning your lover's heart or fancy.
Sympathy Is My Weapon. Every time you forgive someone for hurting you, and excuse their base nature, take a String on them.
Excuses Are My Armor. When you ignore some blatant problem with your lover or how they treat you, mark experience.

That looks perfect Probie Tim. You don't need a ton of backstory, as a lot of that will get fleshed out in the next step. That's where I ask lots and lots of questions as we follow your characters around on a typical day and see what kind of trouble they get into. I always created, like, an OOC chatter thread and a few "generic" threads for PCs to use. I always found it useful as a PBP player to create threads for some of the regular locations ... I've now made an OOC thread in the RPoL forums. As soon as we establish some locations, I'll make those threads too. I think you have one more Mortal move to start with gina, as you start with True Love and two more. It looks like shadrack posted Tethys' introduction back on 3/12, so I think we're good to move on to assigning starting Strings. I've started a new thread on the RPoL forums to do that with instructions. Let's move over to the RPoL.net forums exclusively by the next 24 hours.

Oh in case it might be helpful, I feel like Tethys and his/her parents are new to the town.
A significant amount of moving ever since "the incident". But this might just be the place to settle down.
