So, I probably shouldn't do this, but I'll be running a play-by-post Dungeon World game on RPoL.net for a few people. I'll take up to four players, as that's my usual limit for PbtA games and I don't want to get swamped by running two games at once. If you're in my Monsterhearts pbp game, please refrain from joining this game so other have a chance to play. The players currently are: #1; ilina#2: uncommonman#3: christheabject (maybe?) #4: ayslynWe'll be playing in the great city of Anglekite in the Crater Basin, as detailed in The Last Days of Anglekite setting/adventure book. From the back of the book: You don't need to know anything about Anglekite or the Crater Basin to play. You don't need to know anything about Dungeon World to play. All you need to do is say your interested, go grab the free Dungeon World play kit, and then make an RPoL account. That's it. Oh, lastly, no custom playbooks. Only the basic playbooks from the play kit, please.

how about a small and cute human dexterity fighter in mesh with a Saber? i didn't see knife as an option for the fighter signature weapon, so i would have to go with saber.
Lilly; Human Fighter (Dervish for description)
Strength 9 Dexterity 16 Constitution 13 Intelligence 15 Wisdom 8 Charisma 12
Signature Weapon, Pair of Ornate Scimitars with Precise and Serrated Edges (technically only paired for description, in reality, it works just like a single weapon. no off hand attacks or any of that)
Defenses
Mesh Clothing (1 Armor, 1 Weight, mesh is a cheap medieval armor.) and Adventuring Gear (5 uses, 1 weight)
Misc
Shield (Descriptor for offhand scimitar, +1 armor, 2 weight)
2 healing potions
took a bit of reskinning, but no mechanics were really changed.

As long as you built Lilly using just the stuff from the play kit (which it looks like you did) that's fine.
So Lilly wields a pair of ornate scimitars, one of which counts as a sword and the other of which counts as a shield?

yeppies to the scimitar question, one is a sword the other a shield. have a sample of Lilly's Playby. more the look of a wizard academy apprentice. but i did research on mesh's benefit in absorbing light blows and treated it as a reskin or leather or chainmail. you can make relatively normal looking stuff out of it.

Err... Really? Lilly's dressed like a Japanese school girl despite this being a medieval fantasy game?

more like Wizard Academy apprentice, but i will look for something more fitting. the design is similar to the hogwarts student uniforms. it also works for catholic schools or for sailors. do either of these work better? they come from a medieval fantasy MMO?

You also need to detail Lilly's Looks: Body, Eyes, Hair, and Skin. As well as choose her Alignment. Does she have a family name?

Lilly is the Alias she goes by, she was unable to become a proper knight due to illegitimacy, but earned a position as a Squire when her talents as a dancer allowed her to prove herself worthy of education in the sword. her dances as a runaway bastard working for a carnival involved her performing with swords, so she ended up recieving instruction in actually using them for more than show.
she has no family name because she is a bastard
generally good aligned
lithe build
eager eyes
obsessively groomed hair
scarred skin beneath her robes

Sure. Those pictures work. Though.. Lilly doesn't have a tail and floppy ears, does she?

though i am using human as the mechanical base
those images come from final fantasy 14. you can choose to keep the ears and tail there, or remove them in your mind. but they were the closest images i could find to a medieval style in a look that was pleasing to my eyes, and they were on a figure with ears and tail. i it really doesn't matter to me whether she has them or not.
i was primarily going with the outfit. though if you are strict with the image, the ears and tail could be fakes she wore as accessories during her carnival act. in fact, to keep things believable, i will say the ears and tail were accessories that served as part of her stage costume. thus they are technically accessories worn to impersonate a member of some foreign species called the Draconian. in fact, i would prefer that the ears and tail were accessories for the show.

i was searching for lithe framed female humanoids from medieval console games and MMOs i knew of that could pass for attractive, and well, it was either go with an FF14 Au Ra and declare the ears and tail as performance accessories, or go with studded leather, which wasn't a historically accurate medieval armor (though mesh clothing was and worked well against small piercing weapons), go with the tons of full plate or plate bikinis, which doesn't fit a blade dancer type plus i'm not into the plate bikini either, or look through the thousands of medieval video game characters that look like they are wearing Japanese school uniforms
so to make it quick, i searched Au Ra Summoner FF14 because i knew that could pass for medieval much more easily than the various designs found in the Tales Series, which are all medieval japanese console RPGs where the characters wear japanese school uniforms, or look through the various MMO hookers i think were a bad fit.

You do know that "historically accurate" isn't something you need to be bound by, right?

You do know that "historically accurate" isn't something you need to be bound by, right? i do. but i never know how strict somebody is with the fashion tropes of their setting. there are many console and computer based fantasy roleplaying and strategy games made in east asia that claim to have a medieval technology level where the characters look more like japanese schoolgirls and less like wizards and rogues. there is even a whole franchise where the main character was trained at a knight's academy and the female uniforms looked exactly like japanese school uniforms i didn't feel that would be a decent fit with your taste, and well, i'm not a fan of plate bikinis or studded leather. and well, i was looking for a design that hinted performer but also hinted student or apprentice. and the original school uniform, i admit is a lazy image i recycle when i am feeling lazy, and keep in my 5 minute lazy bin plus, i wasn't going for a plate wearer, and don't like the look of plate bikinis or studded leather. but i tend to be lazy with searching images, because i am picky with images and tend to prefer specific styles. like this much better than schoolgirl uniform, ears and tail are performance props. plus it has that traveling dancer vibe she would have had before she became an academy initiate in the discipline of combat. where she recieves her sword instructions and interweaves her dances into her combat style. and with a heightened intellect, she knows a few stories she picked up as a performer. not that you have to be a bard to be a dancer. and that is what i am trying to do, a dancer that isn't a bard.
