What are your methods for getting a regular game going and checking to see who is going to show up?
In the games I run or play in, I usually have a recurring schedule (every other Wednesday, third Saturday of the month, etc) on which the game is played and then (If I am the GM) an email is sent out a few days before to check availability.
This system tends to work out pretty well but are there any other methods y'all use to schedule your games? Perhaps a website or app you have had good experiences with?

I use google calendar. That way I can throw in the synopsis from the last session, a teaser to the next session, and when someone can't make it the contact button emails everyone. It also has a reminder feature so when someone says "I forgot it was today" I can say "Bullshit, you confirmed you were coming and you were reminded yesterday and today it was happening." Plus I don't have to rewrite everything if we reschedule, just change the date in the google calendar posting and it sends auto updates.

I use a combination of a few things, but ultimately the whole setup comes from a place of "this is a game, played for fun". It's in roll20, so people don't have to physically go anywhere, so it's easier to just assume people will turn up unless they say otherwise. I make it the same time and day every week. There is a total of 5 players, but the quorum is 3. Having managed people in my profession in the past, I always found that the feather duster was the best stick I always read about people who are super strict and boot people for being flakes etc. But I simply can't see how a GM can act like that and still have fun themselves. So, all I ask is that people give me as much notice as possible if they cannot make it. I don't ask questions. I assume you are an adult. I don't even need a reason. Character absences in the game are hand waved completely - see you next week. If you enjoy the game, you'll do your best to show up. Missing a session is it's own punishment if you enjoy the game. If you dislike the game and stop showing up.... who cares? You don't like the game anyway. I feel like sometimes we create problems where there are none.

Scheduling is the death of games. We play every week on a set day and time. If at all possible, we play. No canceled sessions unless only one player showed up (our groups are usually 3 players + GM). Skip weeks might happen, but if they happen for 3 weeks in a row there is a very good chance the game is dead.

We just play at a set day and time every other week. Sometimes seasons like now can mess with that, in which case if the game falls on, say, Thanksgiving we try to reschedule and maybe play two weeks in a row. Set times and places always work.
Now a local bar (with fifty craft brews on tap) has invited us to use the wi-fi and play there on our regular night (2 people are on google hangouts and the rest of us are face to face). This has been tempting. This has been very tempting.

My primary group plays every Monday. The main GM sends a text out on the weekend as a reminder and to see who's going to make it. What we play depends on who is available. We have a primary game for when most/all can show up, and a secondary game when it's just the usual 3 of us who do.
My other groups are much more sporadic and filled with people with wonky schedules (myself included), and sometimes go a month or two without playing (1 of the groups it's been over a year, but I'm looking at reforming).

I have a set schedule that my group follows (every fourth Saturday), and we use a Facebook group to communicate about who's going to attend or not.
I usually go with the "we play no matter who shows up"-approach, but I've had problems with it recently. This campaign is fairly new - and I envision it to be a short one with only about five sessions - and it feels like a bummer when only two out of five players show up for the two first sessions. :-(

We use Facebook. I create a group for the gaming group.
At the end of each month we create a poll with the date of every Saturday in the following month. Then people vote on when they can make it. we pick the 2 days everyone is available. Then we create a group event for each session. We can include images and recaps in the description and people can comment about game stuff or snacks.

I have a message board on one of my domains. We use that to coordinate.

We schedule that games will be on a particular day of the month (2nd Sunday for example) at such and such a time. I send out reminders but I assume that if someone has a conflict they will let me know well in advance, but then again I have really good players.

I would love to be able to give advance notice... Sadly, I don't find out about my weekend schedule until Fridays....

Recently we've been using instagrams DMs. It's nice because with the chat you can also see who opened the message even if they didn't reply. We also have a shared folder on google drive where everyone's character info is kept, along with world info.
Scheduling has always been the bane of my games though. We average playing only once a month.

We currently game about once every 6 Months... yes we still call ourselves gamers. This is mostly because of health issues and work is adding a level of stress that requires hiding from the world for a bit (even people you like)
We have found that our facebook group is very active and an invite on that at least a week or two in advance seems to do the trick.
