During Season 18 episode 8 Stu talked about doing Con games for kids if his kids are going to the next con. Could we have a show topic about how to achieve that? This to consider: - What system should be used or is easy to teach?
- What themes or imagery should/shouldn't be used?
- How to engage kids at the table?
- Should nearby tables be warned of your kid game, or do pub rules apply?
I know in past podcasts Kimi has had a wealth of knowledge on the subject but it might be nice to retouch the topic as a "how to" for con games specifically.

I'm not going to delve into how a con needs to be ran, but I have 2 suggestions for games to play.
Fuzzy Heroes - Its a tabletop war game with stuffed animals.
Toon - Its an rpg about cartoon characters.
Both, with adult supervision, can keep a 3 year old entertained for an extended period of time.

I find that planning con games for kids isn't that hard. It depends on their age, though. If they're pretty young, you can get them with the old "got your nose" con. Older kids you might get with a candy pyramid scheme.

I have a lot of experience playing with my 8-year-old, so I can't say what works with different age groups, however the ability to play monsters and find/destroy other monsters is key. He loves 5e and plays well as long as it is encounter-focused, fast-paced, and full of a lot of hero moments. I've been turning him onto PBTA and Monster of the Week is a good route. It seems like PBTA is a bit more intuitive for the age group.
But whatever it is, monsters, monsters, monsters.

I will be doing this on this upcoming weekend at Evercon in WI. I will be bringing my daughters and hopefully have other kids in this game for a reversal of a trope that should be exciting for them. Also, plan on shorter sessions. I usually plan for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours tops with kids. Their attention span may wander, but keep them on the hook and looking forward to the next session. Good luck.
