Random Journal Update
we had to find the Ruins of Atlantis, so the professor could get closer to the temple of the Jaguar for his prestige. Shiori got Quickly incapacitated in 3 fights, but survived with no permanent injuries. we first eliminated sone dude who sold child pornography and liberated the little girls he used for his films. his corpse conveniently had maps to some islands.
we take the map, and we bring one of Shiori's higher graded and older female classmates, who has MI6 relatives. this helps us deal with some random encounters, because Britain fights them for us because we are protecting a 00 agent's neice. we literally spend hours wading through jungles and using Britain to fight for us. and all i was useful for, was helping with survival checks and healing the Archaeologist after each of his Spirit World Fights. which he only won by using jokers because he fought like an idiot and the GM forced him to base his attacks, damage, parry and toughness of his d4 spirit instead of his d8 fighting, d8 vigor and d6 strength. because it was the spirit world or some horse bile like that.

Sounds like you had a fantastic time. it can be sometimes fun and sometimes suffering. most of the quests have been fetch quests and the campaign feels very bait and switch. i told him, that with the huge amount of fantastical elements we have encountered so far, that he might as well allow faeries as a player character race because i couldn't tell the difference between his tropicana game and an urban fantasy story in a generic jungle with generic mexican sounding names. GM "no faeries Ilina, i don't want no child sized winged humanoids" Ilina: "faerie is a category that encompasses all sorts of nature spirits. i can't tell the difference between a telepathic jaguar of human intelligence and a child sized winged humanoid that casts spells." Matthew*Defending the GM Poorly* "the Jaguar isn't telepathic, it is a totem animal spirit guide in the spirit world. it doesn't interact with mortals directly" Ilina: "but the spirit sends Avatars into the human world and the spirit does actually interact through avatars to mortals. usually in the form of a telepathic jaguar of human intelligence that speaks native English. i truly can't tell the thing apart from a faerie, Totem Animals are Nature Spirits, Nature Spirits are Fey, thus the Jaguar is a Faerie by extension. clearly faeries interact with humans." GM: "no nature spirits. i don't want to see child sized winged humanoids flying and chucking fireballs." *funny thing, my faeries never chuck fireballs, and they are almost never a child sized winged humanoid.* Ilina: "you have Shamans that can instantly heal peoples injuries and resurrect the dead without any meaningful investment in time, energy or resources. i think a fireball is a lot less world changing than downside free cost free resurrection." GM: "you must be related to an Azkali chieftan to have a chance at learning to be a Shaman." Ilina: "other nationalities, religions and cultures had their own Shaman equivalents as well." GM: *Hinted by facial expressions rather than actually said* "Ilina, i tire of your use of common sense to deconstruct my harsh and pointless restrictions because i know that you know i cannot tell a good story at all. so i have to intentionally hide details, hide rolls, throw in senseless random encounters, and rely on cheap knockoff movie plots to give you guys a game that you only enjoy because you get to be filthy powergaming murderhobos and sate your bloodlust. i know nothing i use is creative. just shut up and play, and don't deconstruct my fallacies again. even though i clearly won't ban you if you keep doing it."
