Big fan of the wire. Weirdly my favourite season is season 2, which others think is the worst

You're not alone . . . I love it's mix of contemporary and 60's modern as well it's 'telling the story from his point of view, as an unreliable narrator'* Aaron *for those confused by the story, that's why - you're confused because he's confused . . . but trust me it makes sense by the end. I thought it was incredible. Really bold for a Marvel property, too. I'm not saying I'm not a fan normally - I loved DD and Jessica Jones - but I hadn't seen a level of darkness like that in anything with their label. I really enjoyed Legion as well.

American Gods very good so far How is it compared to the book? Now, here's the thing. I have this love hate relationship with Gaiman, and the book came out during a "hate" phase, do I've never read it. It does feel very Gaiman-y though. (In a good way)

Just back from Guardians of the Galaxy, volume 2. To begin with you think they're not going to get away with it this time. It's too audaciously cheesy. And then you know what, they DO get away with it. Can Marvel Studios do no wrong (apart from Iron Man 2, I mean)?

It does feel very Gaiman-y though. (In a good way) I love the book, it has small stories called "coming to America" that are superb.

The very first segment is titled "Coming to America" so you might be very happy with the adaptation.

It's that time of year again and nature's pull has once again called me to my summer den where I have stockpiled mineral water and tator tots so I can rewatch the entirety of Buff the Vampire Slayer.

American Gods very good so far How is it compared to the book? An hour in.... But seriously. So far, it's staying true to the spirit while somewhat ignoring the word. There are scenes that never appear in the book (maybe in some bonus material, but not the original).

My main problem with American Gods is that it won a Hugo despite being just a Sandman: Season of Mists novel with no Sandman appearance.

Wife and I watched it last night. Wife's concern was that it would be opaque to anyone who hadn't read the book.

I am currently watching a vendor logged in to my work PC upgrading one of our mission-critical systems. The screenplay is boring as shit and there's a distinct lack of any sort of characterization or conflict.
Praise be to the Microsoft Surface so that I can actually do stuff.
