Hey folks,
I finally posted updated times for Jackercon Samurai League, which uses a very small system called Wind on the Path, featured in the zine Codex - Iron:
Wind on the Path is a two player game where participants play samurai who meet each other on the road and duel. The duelists take measure of each other and jockey for superior position, their pasts gradually revealed to the audience via flashback. One of the duelists may choose to forfeit, or both may gather their energies in preparation for a single, devastating blow.
Want to play?
1. Fill in a Samurai Duelist Sheet:
Fill it in including:
- Name
- Eyes
- Look
- Sword
- Style
- History questions: You can fill in any of these you care to ahead of time. Otherwise you can decide on the values during a match, when they come up.
- Fill out the -1, 0, 0, and +1 values for each of the four types of Terrain, Wind, and Tension. This tells you in what ways your samurai is good and bad in a fight. The higher tension levels, the better they are at the time of combat. The lower tension levels = better at positioning and preparing for the fight.
2. Place your Samurai in the Samurai League Tracker
Place the values of your player (forum) name - for example, I put "tomes" - and then your samurai's Eyes, Look, Sword, and Style. Do not place your Samurai name or other information in the spreadsheet.
At a minimum you'll see my Samurai already added. NOTICE that it only shows a few fields, and you do not get to see any of the additional information such as my name or other important information... that only gets revealed after battles take place, and comes with a disadvantage.
3. Then sign up for a game.
If only one person signs up, I'll fight them with my samurai. If two people sign up, I'll facilitate the rules so they can duel. The game easily lasts under an hour. I've put these games initially up on Jackercon:
