If it was My Cousin Vinny, it was Marisa Tomei.

I'm sure that's the one now that you mention it Thanks to all for clearing that up for me. I'll add it to my list. Happy Jacks is my number one source of book and movie recommendations these days. If you would like another one to add, I'm a big fan of Ken and Robin Discuss Media, part of Ken and Robin Talk About Stuff. That and Happy Jack's are my go-to podcasts primarily. The sheer amount of information Ken Hite and Robin D Laws have on their brains - like being able to pull the librarian at Alexandria's name out of thin air - is amazing. Plus, you learn interesting historical facts like about Robert Fortune (best name for an adventurer ever), who managed to somehow steal Chinese tea, smuggle it out of the country in special portable greenhouses, and plant it in Darjeeling India... despite being a 6' tall, redheaded, ugly Scotsman in China...

Indeed, KARTAS is my 2nd favorite RPG-related podcast after HJ. Great listening.

The Elvira discussion reminded me of this: Unfortunately I've never seen the actual game.

Their past few episodes I think would be pretty useful to a lot of HJ listeners maybe because they've hit on moving from OSR type games towards a more narrative approach and it seems like that comes up pretty regularly on here. As I'd said in my email the B-team read, Ken and Robin and HJ are about my go-tos for gaming-specific advice or help and like they said it really puts HJ is some esteemed company.

Heart Elvira. <3 Until 3 months ago, a Pizza / Sub Shop near me had the Elvira pin ball machine in the dinning room. Unfortunately, they were too fast making my food to play the game. Don't tell the wife, but a few times I would play a game then order subs for take out.

If it was My Cousin Vinny, it was Marisa Tomei. Thank you. I watched the movie and am glad I did. Honestly, i was surprised by how much comedy has changed in 25 years. So much of the humor was in facial expressions and how things were said rather than what was said. The movie also brought out a sense of nostalgia. I have to admit that a feeling of the movie being old, especially because it was made when I was a young adult, dominated my experience of watching it. Maybe it was that the podcast banter with the quotations from My Cousin Vinny set my expectations and became the standard to which the original paled in age and distance. I had a similar feeling about age when I rewatched Blade Runner earlier this year. Unlike this movie, I had seen it multiple times in the past, but this time I really felt its age. I still liked it, but was a little sad that I had become distant from the time when I thought it was great. Memory rusts. Records decay. Stories must be retold. That's one reason I keep listening to this podcast.

This may have been my ' why don't we ever talk about Alicia Vikander because she is EFFING AMAZING' comment? If so, Alicia Effing Vikander. Seriously, check it: Ex Machina, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (completely under-appreciated film imo), Jason Bourne, The Danish Girl, Seventh Son, A Royal Affair (Danish film with Mads Effing Mikkelsen), The Fifth Estate, etc. Thanks! I didn't realize Effing was such a common Scandinavian name! Ex Machina was great. I will look for some of those others. She was also the best part of Jason Bourne, other than being guaranteed to not see Julia Stiles in the series again. I was also surprised that Effing is a common name. When googling it, I was surprised to see Nils Laurin Effing show up in an EFF related case. Who effing knew?
