It's a bad joke from the first edition Forgotten Realms gamebooks, but call it the High Roll, so in every port when you gamble, you can say 'High Roll gets it!' and just grab the money and run off... Or Common Good, for similar reasons. "I take your stuff for the Common Good!"

To paraphrase Red Snake: Of all the ways to trim a beard, the incessant to and fro of an oar, is the worst. ...and a dirty one at that? Oh, my.

I like this one simply because I did a deep dive once on Bomb ships, and read a whole lot on the subject. There was a ship in this time period called the Granado(or Grenado depending on what record you look at), (http://shipsofscale.com/gallery/gbarlow/granado/index.html) and it was a bomb ship, meaning it carried a couple of mortars, Think heavy hulled ships. They had to be to survive the shock of the mortar's firing. As such they were used in artic exploration, and both of the Franklin vessels were ex-bomb ships. Bomb vessels always had such lovely names. The Terrible. The Terror. The Salamander. Erebus. "The bomb's busting in air" in the star spangled banner, were shot from British bomb ships. Sorry, nerding out moment. I got into it when Pirates of the Burning Sea was a thing and I always wanted to model the bomb ship called the "Terrible". The Black Jack is also a good name. Captain won her in a game of cards.

Avast, ye peeps... If you listened to character creation, you likely heard that we all shirked passed on the captaincy, so it was decided that our captain be none other than the fearsome and spectacular Captain Black. And as the real Captain Black is Bill Roper, he tossed us a beauty of a name: The Siren's Song. Seemed a good candidate since most of us decided, for some silly reason, to take "Performance" as a skill. ;)

So, more Pirates of Penzance than Pirates of the Spanish Main, then?
