As familiar as I am with Vampire, I have long been curious as to the tone of a Werewolf game, as I have never played or run one. I will be watching with great interest.

A lot of people turned off WW: The Apocalype because being Eco-Terrorists got a little awkward in a post 9/11 world. But I think that's where Wild West can pick up the slack since there so much more leeway to do whatever in the setting. There's still the sensitive handling of native cultures in the setting, also a pretty bad national tragedy, but that's a little easier to portray than bombing a building in modern times because "there's evil there."

Yeah, the Native American side of things is a more tricky thing to consider (which I've been doing as sensitively as I can), but it's doable to navigate respectfully.

That was actually why I enjoyed Forsaken so much more that Apocalypse. Dropping the angry eco-warrior did a lot for making the game more palatable for players. Plus I enjoy the antagonists way more. Though I know a lot of players that are still mad about them dropping Metis and Lupus. I suppose they still tried the eco-terrorist thing with Changing Breeds, but I try to forget that book exists.

A few points since I got to this thread so late: - Knowing there's a place called Jackelope Junction makes me want to buy an NPC
- As someone who had Whataburger and now lives in CA, what are your thoughts on comparing it to In-n-Out? At this point I feel like both sides are over-hyping their side, respectively.
I'm excited to see you GM. I have a feeling you're similar to Stu in that aspect, in that, fun and flow supersede rules.

- I have a weird fascination with Jackalopes; maybe because of being from the Southwest. Would be happy to work in an NPC there. - I like Whataburger a lot. Best burger ever? No. Damn delicious? Yes. Never been a huge In-n-Out fan. The best thing they have going for them is Animal Style. I can see where I might be similar to Stu in that respect. I've always been character focused in the games I've run and fun is more important than anything.

I know I have been intrigued with them since I discovered them as a thing. I like the Deadlands take on them as insidious luck sponges... As a born and bred Californian, I think In-N-Out has a mystique because it's our only non-national chain. Really it's the shakes that make it better than the other fast food, IMHO. I may be a heretic, but I have never been a fan of their fries. I tried Whataburger once, and would be open to giving it another shot as it was in the Dallas airport. My thought at the time was that they were missing the word "shitty" in between the "Whata" and "burger". But before you flame broil me, I absolutely chalk that up to airport food, not the chain itself.

Nah, as I told Mac, I think both sides of the "which is better?" are doing a disservice to their own side because it's beyond hype, now. I fully expect to be disappointed by In-n-Out because it just won't live up to the hype, but I'll try to keep an open mind. What's your favorite item on the menu? Also, it you ever have the chance to get Whataburger again and aren't in the mood for a burger, get the Honey BBQ Chicken Strip sandwich. That's my favorite item on the menu.
