The pulpy setting for SW by Triple Aces is called "Daring Tales of Adventure". This is the setting that goes ith the AMMMMAZING free downloadable module,
Rocket Nazis on the Orient Express
Which I have run and highly reccomend. The module, and the setting, really does well with the tropes of pulpy adventure in the veign of the old Sat. Morning Serial Matinees, Indiana Jones, The Mummy, etc.
I really like Daring Tales of Adventure, particularly their guidelines on when to give bennies to players. (For instance, when the players surrender in a conflict. Since the genre includes lots of clever escapes, you have to be captured before you can escape after all.)
On the subject of what to do with characters who's players are not present and putting them in bags. The first time I had a regular gaming group (AD&D 2e), we had this one guy who played a Ranger and he had a weird schedule. So the DM ruled that he had magical Narcolepsy and we had a portable hole that we would dump him into until he "woke up".
Another friend once told me about a D&D group she was in where the players had weird work schedule. So the consiet of their game was that the PC's were "Fate Makers". That is, chosen people who were unwittingly chosen by various gods to decide things by their actions. Basically, the characters would go on quests and base on what they accomplished or didn't accomplish would settle disputes between various gods. So people would get plunked down or yanked out based on some arbitrary rules the PCs were never made aware of but in reality it was just who could show up to any given session.
On the subject of making a Dresden Files Vegas game, Fray was also a big driver of that. We had come up with some pretty awesome stuff. Maybe we can find some cashed version of it on google or something?

On the subject of being healthy and not being fat to death, I'm kinda obsessed with that subject but won't get preachy here except to say that you can watch the HBO documentary "Weight Of The Nation" for free on the show's website. (Just google it.)
Many years ago I started "tricking" my gaming group into eating some damn fiber by putting out carrot sticks and ranch on the table during sessions. Much to the delight of my last of gaming groups, I A) like to host, B) get tired really fast of pizza and soda, and C) like to cook. I remember the first time they all came over ready to order in a pizza but I had scampi with artichoke hearts and a salad. They also quite liked Good Eats pouch ramen soup (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/ramen-shrimp-pouch-recipe/index.html) which is super easy and delish. My tacos were also very popular but I don't know how healthy those are really... We would also occasionally get one of those roasted chickens from the store, shred the meat up with some forks and use that for tacos. It's really not that hard to whip up something tastey and probably better for you then pizza.
Dessert was usually fruit macerated in stevia, splenda, or a light drizzle of honey either by itself or spooned over some kind of simple cake or frozen yogurt or sorbet.
Hummus has replaced the ranch next to those carrots.

... Also, trying to post on the sly at work means that there's sometimes like 5 minutes between starting to write a sentence and finishing it. So that leads to phrases like "chosen people who have been chosen".
This makes you sound like an idiot.
Don't be like me kids.

One of the things I used to do is pair people up (couples were of course paired) and we would rotate and each session a pair would provide dinner for the group. Now, sometimes that meant pizza, sometimes it meant something wonderful and sometimes it meant something scary. We had one guy who liked to make mac and cheese with tuna and whatever frozen vegetable he had on hand it was a little scary.
Cheers,
JiB

Also, what's up with all the hatred for Sketchers? Is it the whole furor with the Shape-ups or just the fact that they seem to target their brand towards hipsters and dbags?

You'd have to ask Hosier Rob.
Hosier Rob gets very angry and passionate about some very obscure things.

Two things about this episode. 1. Blind Envy should read more emails. Between her ... dramatic reading and the reaction of the other hosts, I was laughing my ass off. Funny, I don't really remember what the email was about either ...
2. None of the guys should attempt to read emails like Blind Envy. Uh ... yeah. Awkward. Sounded like when my old DM used to voice the female NPCs in a bad falsetto. Disturbed the shit out of the players until we finally got him to stop.

In my Changeling game the Spring Court Queen was a pre-op transsexual who identified as a woman. My players absolutely insisted that I do a voice for her. So I did. And it was legen... wait for it... dary. ;D

The B-Team episode was really enjoyable! Molly... what a voice. The others were also really entertaining. The show felt fresh and very dynamic. One other company making pulp stuff for Savage Worlds is Adamant Entertainment, the guys who also makes Buckaroo Banzai and Icons. I've played with their Thrilling Tales sourcebook and it's awesome... Ok it was Ammaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing! I would not mind for a B-Team podcast from times to times.

Also, what's up with all the hatred for Sketchers? Is it the whole furor with the Shape-ups or just the fact that they seem to target their brand towards hipsters and dbags? It goes back a long time. I used to sell shoes in an athletic store in the mall and Sketchers were just a shitty brand of low quality shoes that LA Gear used to try to keep their brand relevant. Tied to the fact that there was a small subcutlure of guys at the time that wore tight shirts and these fucking ugly sketcher high heeled boots. They were all assholes and hung around the mall. Not the best of reasons, so maybe it is sheer irrational hate.

I'm with you HosierRob. I hate Sketchers. My wife bought my son a pair of those z-strap ones . I informed her, my son is not retarded and can tie his own shoes ( he is 6 ). They have sat in his shoe bin for months as I get him his clothes every morning, and instead give him his vans or airwalks with laces

Just seconding that "Thrilling Tales" by Adamant is a really good pulp supplement for Savage Worlds.
On the topic of FATE games at cons. I think they can work, but it would help to have a concept and aspects that are easy to latch onto. Take as a given that you aren't going to do a custom city for a con game. Keep your characters archetypical, but give them some style.
example: let's crib together a quick scenario that will be easy for the players to wrap their heads around.
"The Avengers"
setting aspects "We are at war!" - the party (and the world) is in a crisis "Layers of secrets" - Nick Fury isn't playing it straight with anyone
Characters Black Widow - "Sexy super spy", "You talk too much", etc... Hawkeye - "Missing? what's that?" "I see better from far away" Cap - "Old fashioned soldier", "Super-soldier serum success!" Thor - "Norse god of thunder", "Mjolnir" Iron Man - "Man with a heart of Iron", "Devil in the bottle" Hulk - "Hulk SMASH!", "I have forgotten more about Gamma radiation than you'll ever know" Coulson - "True Believer", "Security Leak"
summary: I think it's doable, you just need to have concepts / characters / and aspects that are easy to get your head wrapped around.
Also, keep your aspect list down to like 5 or so per player, and don't give them a ton of FATE chips. (SotC would give them 10, I would go 5)

FATE games can absolutely be done at Cons. I played in two of them at the last Con I attended, and both went really well.
