So, besides the Super Powers Book, does anyone have a setting they would recommend for seven and twelve year olds? I don’t like any of the Stat Wars conversions. Right now they are doing generic fantasy where I run them through old adventures I have.
I want to stick to Savage Worlds because they have taken a shine to it. Otherwise I would have them playing Faery’s Tales which is an excellent system for kids.

Slipstream might be fun. It's pulp-style science fiction in the vein of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers. Heroic spacers with ray guns and silver spacesuits with bubble helmets fighting the ape-like minions of the evil Queen Anthraxa on the far side of a black hole.
High action-adventure stuff where the rules specifically state that the heroes can't die--they just get knocked out and captured to be put into death traps they inevitably escape from, etc.

That sounds awesome. While looking that up I just noticed that there is going to be a Flash Gordon Kickstarter. I want to sing Queen now...

I want to play it after reading that!

i have run the Red Sands Space 1889 for a a group of kids aged 10 and 13 with a bit of assistance from their mom and dad , it worked well as the older child is a steampunk fan and the younger one enjoyed solving problems with a revolver in one hand and a sabre in the other

I've run tons of different settings for kids ranging from 5-17. With the general age being around 10ish. That being said, they all have loved Savage Rifts and Savage Supers the most. The Savage Supers game a ran basically allowed them to create whatever super hero they wanted. It was using the SPC (version 1), we had a ben10 clone where he created his own alien, an iron man clone that built his own suit of armor, Cheshire ( she didn't bother filing the serial numbers off ), a water bender, a Solid Snake clone, and King Arthur with a mythical ghost horse. So the kids really loved the higher powers, and didn't mind the extra math and larger numbers.
