I am curious what music means to your character aka what do you play that reminds you of incidents or aspects of your characters.
I play a character who lost a son, Finn, to a villain. It makes for an angsty good time in terms of role playing. and there's a song, but there's a bit of history to it.
20 or so years ago some friends of mine died in a drunk driving accident. They were the drunk ones. It was only their car involved, thank goodness. Bad life choices, you know?
I'll always remember at the funeral, though, because their mom had to bury her twin sons and they played a song by Ozzy called "My Little Man" which was a lullaby from Ozzy to his at the time young son. Played at the funeral it took on a completely different meaning.
When my character lost a son to the villain, there was only one song that would describe to me what it was like being a parent losing their son. "My Little Man" became the song to remind me of Finn.
So, what songs to you have?

Holy cow. That background is brutal ericfromnj . The song that I feel captures my current Monsterhearts character, Donna Strickland is "Tell Me Where It Hurts" by Halestorm: Halestorm is part of my go-to "soundtrack" for Monsterhearts games, as their early songs are about angsty love. Perfect for teenage romance. But the lyrics for "Tell Me Where It Hurts" are perfect for Donna, as we've discovered she is absolutely willing to physically hurt her girlfriend Vivian, who we've discovered enjoys pain as a turn on. Update:I tried listening to some Dixie Chicks, since Donna is way into country western music, in an attempt to get into her headspace. Oh. Hell. No. I lasted less than five minutes.

That’s an awesome song.
As for some country, try a different genre from pop country
Ooooo. Listen to “Go Fuck You” by Hank Williams III and see if that fits your character more.

I built a Serenity (Firefly) RPG character around this song

I once built a character around the song "Rothesay Bay" by the Battlefield Band. I can't find a youtube link for it, and the versions I can find are different... more upbeat and sing-songy. The Battlefield Band version is slower and more melancholy. You really feel the homsickness.
In short, the song is about a person who's homesick for the family farm on the shores of Rothesay Bay in Scotland. My character was Scottish and far from home, and I used the song to inform her personality.

The only character I had which was influenced by music was an AD&D fighter who rode into battle singing this song:

God damn it, Probie Tim . For someone who insists on A) rolling dice as GM and B) running The Game That Shall Not Be Mentioned, you have decent taste in music. My coworker, who is playing Vivian, the pain fetish ghoul (who doesn't know she's dead yet), suggested Placebo's "Every You Every Me" as a song to represent our characters' relationship:

This song was, literally, the background story for my Changling character (before he was taken by the fey) Aaron

I'm not a fan of country western music either but it's not all bad - take some rennies to contain the bile and have a dig through the genre . . . some of it is really rather good. I'd suggest (now don't laugh) really early Dolly Parton, man some of those lyrics are gruesome (on reflection the Violent Femmes take on the genre with 'Country Death Song' is probably a homage rather than a parody) Aaron

Sorry. I love Savage Worlds so much even the mere hint of it turns me into a spastic Daffy Duck.
Hrm. Back to music. My guy was a bit of a womanizer and a drunk in his past so my favorite songs to listen to regarding that are
All I Care About from the musical Chicago. My Bucket Has a Hole in It by Tin Pan.
