I need between 5 and 9 NPCs before the game starts up in January. Now, I can do this myself, but they will (1) be rather generic and (2) probably be a bit rushed. But then I thought to myself, "Self, why are you talking to yourself this way? This isn't how we normally converse. Also, we have creative and invested fans of the Actual Plays who like creating characters as much as you do. Maybe some of them would like to create an NPC to exist in the 13th Century World of Darkness."
So, if you're interested in helping to populate the Cainite denizens of Lesser Poland, Sandomierz, and beyond, leave a post here. There are specific clans I need represented, so I'd like to work with y'all to flesh these out.

Friends, enemies, Friendmies? Generation? Clan permitted? Are they all vampires? Can they be Demon, Wraith, Werebeast, Mage? If so, where is the region so we put the right type? A new demon (0 xp) planning his corruption in the town nearby giving Hell to the players. Will the players stop him/her before he gather too much followers. A mysterious "cave" where an Ananasi and a Son of Ether planning something technomagical
You may need a NPC that give quests. Like a seer. Malkavians are good seer since you can give clues without really giving them.

Here's an option.
Zoran Jovanovitch is a boy who is barely of age. With his 16 years he looks just like any other young adult. He is accompanied by his Father Eldin Jovanovitch, who seems to be about 35. In truth his "father" is his Ghoul and bodyguard and a former soldier.
Zoran is a bit on the frail side. His real parents were poor leatherworkers. They managed to get by though. Early on Zoran showed a great musical talent. at the age of 6 he became friends with a rich merchant's son. They had a harp, a fiddle and a psaltery and he was allowed to play as much as he liked.By the age of 16 he was a virtuoso in all stringed instruments and had finished writing several songs. Sometimes he would even play for the local magistrate. This caught the attention of a Toreador by the name of Velad Marishnik. He was so enthralled, that he just had to have this young lad as his newest aquisition. He planned on making him a vampire. About 2 decades ago, this Toreador had begun a feud with a beautiful female Malkavian by the name of Juliana Seinerowa. She had wanted a childe as well for uite a while. So she quickly gathered permission from the Prince and then first seduced and then sired young Zoran. When the Toreador learned of this he went into a fit of rage and killed the boy's parents. At that moment something broke in Zoran. The boy had always been a gentle and empathic soul. Seeing his parents all bloody and mutilated broke his kind spirit. Since then, whenever he experiences the slaying of a person in a bloody way, he reverts to a different part of himself. Either he goes into a childlike, fearful, state and can do little until he has been calmed or taken away, a task that is usually left to his ghoul, or he is filled with dark hatred that compels him to punish the killer. (I suggest that the GM flip a coin or leave it to chance which of the two it is. Or you just disregard it if it doesn't fit into your plans) Punishment need not be death. Dementation offers great ways to harm someone and nightmares are not to be trifled with.
After becoming a vampire, Zoran wanted nothing more than to kill his parents' killer. His sire did not allow this and taught him the long game. One day, when it hurts the most. In the meantime just manipulating others into harming the Toreador's operations will have to do. She also taught him do hide himself (Obfuscate 2) and to see and hear things that may not be there (Auspex 3) and of course he learned to harness his Malkavian birthright. (Dementation 4 Oh the nightmares)
To the world he plays the child (Demeanor Child), while in truth he judges those around him. (Nature Judge) He meets up with his sire a few times each year, but mostly has been on his own the past decade. He has a small network of contacts in medium places and some meager resources. Mostly he plays the leatherworker, because it is something he can do and let his "father" do. Other than that he is still working to find his place and build contacts to survive in this world.
Though he once loved it, the beauty of music is somewhat lost to him now. When his mood is sullen he still sits down and play thuogh. And when he does it is hauntingly beautiful.
I hope that helps. Feel free to disregard everything or parts of it and if you need anything changed then I will make up something else.
Good luck

Here's an option. Zoran Jovanovitch That's beautiful! I like it. With your permission, I would like to incorporate this character into the narrative. I might slightly change the name, only so that I can consistently pronounce it correctly, and to be distinct from other characters. But having Polish ancestry, I have a fair amount of experience with Polish names.

You should pull in one of the older characters from Mote of Sin. Maybe the Nos prince that took over LA at the end?

- A gargoyle bodyguard for the Tremere
Have one lying around from a game I ran a while back BarbasSire: None Nature: Caregiver Demeanor: Defender Generation: 10th Apparent Age: Indeterminate Physical: Strength (Rocklike Fists) 5, Dexterity (Agile Flyer) 4, Stamina (Battle Hardened) 5 Social: Charisma 3, Manipulation 2, Appearance 0 Mental: Perception 3, Intelligence 3, Wits (On Guard) 4 Talents: Alertness (Ambushes) 4, Brawl 3, Dodge 3, Empathy 3, Intimidation (Overt Violence) 4 Leadership 2 Skills: Crafts 2, Etiquette 2, Herbalism 1, Melee (Swords) 4, Stealth 3, Survival 2 Knowledges: Academics 1, Hearth Wisdom 2, Investigation 2, Occult 1 Disciplines: Flight 4, Fortitude 2, Potence 3, Visceratika 4 Combined Disciplines: Shoulders of Atlas*, Falconer's Dive* Rituals: Ward of the Winged Sepulcher* Backgrounds: Allies 2 Virtues: Conscience 5, Self-Control 4, Courage 4 Morality: Path of Community (Road of Humanity) 6 Willpower: 8 Merits: Stillness of Death*, Heavy Hands* Flaws: Stone Tongue* *from Lore of Bloodlines AppearanceBarbas can be described as strangely beautiful. His body has perfect symmetry and even the inhuman features like horns and the bird-like wings make him seem like a demonic work of art. His inhuman beauty hints that the vampire used in his creation was a Tzimisce. His only flaw is the stone tongue that prevents him from talking in more than slurred mumbles. Character NotesBarbas seems like the perfect servant, but little habits have started to form that go against his masters wishes. Behind a loose stone in his haven, he keeps a handful of knick-knacks he's collected. He also acts much like an older sibling for the other gargoyles in the Chantry. The affeection he shows them breeds little rebellions in them as well. Slowly, the gargoyles become more loyal to each other than their masters.

One of my favorite characters to play as a Malk - forever ago - was one who had, as they say, watched TV until his eyes went square. I had a list of maybe twenty TV personalities, whether real or fictional characters, and he would shift between them in different stresses. Probably been done a million times, but it went well here... like he would shift to becoming Mister Rogers if he had to try to correct someone's behavior, using his social etiquette would tend to shift him into Martha Stewart ... almost to the point that he couldn't actually use Etiquette skill if the rest of whatever stimuli wasn't there. YMMV

Roshan Bayat, Assamite Vizier, diplomat of Alamut
You have to do your own stats for most of this:
BUT Viziers get an obsessive derangement centering around something intellectual that they do. I chose poetry. Haa
Also, he should get the 8-point Quietus power called Blood Awakening that lets him gain insights from the blood of people he touches.
From the moment of his embrace, Roshan Bayat has been seen as a creature of subtle irony. Originally from Persia, Roshan's name means Sunlight in Farsi. As his time in Alamut has passed, his face has darkened such that he can pass among the darkest africans without raising an eyebrow, but his soul became almost unbearably light, at least to his brethren. By from the year of his embrace, approximately 350 CE, to now, he has been tending to the Alamut herds, practising the sporadic diplomatic duties Alamut asks of him, and overseeing the logistical nightmare of getting supplies for mortals and sorcerers to a very secret location.
Roshan was one of the traditionalist Assamites who never embraced Islam. Being a Persian in life, he felt too tied to the Zoroastrian faith to commit the kind of spiritual treason that conversion would have demanded of him. During the first schism, even though he didn't convert, he expressly refused to condemn those who did, earning him a very tense couple of decades in and around Alamut before the Baali wars.
Roshan has been a Vizier since his embrace, and he never even considered wishing he could be a sorcerer or warrior. In truth, he'd been a mild-mannered functionary in the empire of Darius III when he happened upon an unfortunate murder in a dark alleyway. He made the traditional sign of the uninterested, fully expecting to back off and leave a coin for the hashsashim to forget him by, but instead he found himself in the embrace.
He took to unlife as a vizier like a fish to water: he found himself responsible for dozens of moretals within simple years of turning. From there, he trained other viziers, some of whom had been at it for decades longer than him. By 475 CE or so, he'd moved on from herd management to supplying the city with what few things they could not grow or procure themselves: strange ingredients for the sorcerers, the occasional raft of slaves to keep the herds from inbreeding, certain foodstuffs to stave off scurvy, medicine as it developed.
Still later, during the unfortunate schism where some of the clan converted to Islam and others did not, he was appointed as the vizier in charge of directing relations to first the Ravnos, then as he proved incomparable as a diplomat, eventually to the city-state of Carthage and all kindred who resided there.
As Rome expanded and smashed Carthage into the sea, Roshan was recalled before the slaughter and sent to direct relations almost anywhere anything had started to go sour for the Assamites. It's during this time of (relative to the long patience of undeath) short assignments in every direction that Roshan developed a particular fondness of poetry. He honed his craft in any time where he was not actively working, and in the 300 or so years that he's been practising, he's become a rare master in many languages.
This began to influence the way he handled important social and political events. He would throw a lavish party for a person, and compose a poem that summed up his observations of the person, hinted at his desires of them, and celebrated whatever attribute he felt was most useful to Alamut. Then he would have it recited by whichever person he felt had the right voice to bring it to the air as the centrepiece of the party. These poems are observant, trenchant, breathtakingly beautiful, and bordering on creepy in their detail. Roshan's poetry has been known to scare kindred who resisted any attempt at forceful intimidation.
Roshan is a very old, very experienced, and very very skilled ambassador, spy, and party host. He would never dream of speaking roughly to you. But be careful he doesn't put out a gold piece for the hashashim to remember you by.

I like it! I will have to make some adjustments, because they got rid of the Visceratika Discipline in DAV20. With your permission, I think I will be using a variant of Barbas in the game.
