Preferred Game Systems: GURPS, baby!

I’ve frequently run a cliffhanger-style game (in GURPS, natch!) where the objective was to find and rescue Amelia Earhart and her co-pilot, Fred Noonan. Seems they were on a secret mission for the US government and got shot down over Saipan Island and were captured by the Japanese army. What mysteries from history would you like to solve in-game? Have you ever borrowed from history to create a game like this?

I highly recommend looking at Ken and Robin Talk About Stuff. A great podcast that Ken Hite and Robin Laws put out. There's a lot of good gaming info, but a spectactular amount of real-world things, especially when Time Incorporated sends Ken back to spin, fold and mutilate reality.
You will learn some incredible things, like how the death of Glen Miller during WW2 set a lot of things into motion, including the rise of Henry Mancini (famous for the Pink Panther theme), as well as Robert Fortune, a 6' talk ugly Scotsman who managed to disguise himself as a Mandarin Chinese noble to smuggle tea out of China and bring it to Darjeeling India to grow while dodging the Dutch.

I'd love to do a game where the D. B. Cooper hijacking happens in the background. To me, that was one of the most awesome and daring crimes in modern history.
