That looks awesome, and is exactly the way I set up my Dungeon World games. Start with the PCs enroute to a destination with a clear picture of why and suggestions about what they might be up against. Nice.
I'd suggest coming up with a leading question for each player that lets them establish a bit more about what (might) be going on and/or why they're involved. 💖

That does sound awesome and makes me want to play in the game, especially as it gives them an immediate in from the start as opposed to having to spend the first session bringing the characters together.

I like it. It makes character gen a flashback series, giving the players a reason to work together and an objective to achieve that will inform the creation process without getting in the way.
Good work.

The game went great. We had a Monstrous (demon with shark teeth), Divine, Wronged, Spellslinger and a Spooky (Ten year old boy). They killed all the werewolves and only half the town burned down. Here's a link to my prep if you're into that kind of thing. Monster of the West

Only half the town?
That's a really good prep document, covers everything and looking over it I feel like I'd be happy to run a session just based upon it.

I'd say yes, there are load of adventures like this for Dungeon World so I don't see why it wouldn't work for Monster of the Week, especially if you were able to build them up in a shared setting.
