I'm so happy this AP is back! I'm also happy you are back in 4e.
I'm sad Kimi couldn't duel Stork... but it makes sense. Looking forward to this in all the ways!
Side note, wasn't Stu going to try and add a strife mechanic to 4e? I didn't hear anything about it in the AP.

I'm only part way through the episode but am wondering whether this is a case where Stork might have been better off creating his character in concert with the rest of the table. (Ala FtB group template approach)
I understand that of all groups the HJ hosts is one that will make it work but it would have avoided the while situation of trying to convince first Stork to join the group and secondly of convincing Kimi not to just kill him when she clearly really really wants to.

I do like the deep interpersonal relationships that are formed in HJ actual plays, which is very hard to achieve when a character always agrees with the majority's views. How About a facilitator of some variety? An envoy?

I didn't think it was a particularly antagonistic PC. Sure, a bit surly and not very deferential to the samurai when they first met, but the whole "You killed my father, prepare to die!" kind of blindsided the entire table. They could have rewritten that part of the backstory, but decided to see how it played out instead. Having conflicting desires and loyalties within the party seem on par with what I know of L5R. He struck me much more as severely depressed, rather than antagonistic, made to take on their quest as a renewed sense of purpose.
Though, his confessions felt like a cop out. Surely his sin was that he had abandoned his duty without ending his life? I guess Stu wanted to usher the plot along, and not spend too much time exploring the pride and stubbornness of the Crab, but the character didn't appear to truly confront and vocalize their dishonour, as the original trio had.

I didn't think Stork's character was antagonistic either. And I really liked the improv that lead to the confrontation, very well executed, all of you! Thanks for another great storyline Kimi, Stork and Stu, I really enjoy listening to this series!

That is exactly what I was doing.
