So back when I was proofreading Bill's Star Wars conversion, I had the idea to do a post-apocalyptic mod for Traveller. It's been slow going, but I'm going to start up my first playtest next week.
If anyone is interested in reading what I did and/or helping me do a little world-building, give me your email (here or in PM) and I'll share my GoogleDoc with you.
It's not nearly as comprehensive as Bill's; I modified the Careers, monetary system, and made a rough scavenging/crafting system.

So we had CharGen last night. Player 1: tried to be a Leader, failed, got drafted into being a soldier for some faction. Tried another Career after that, failed, became a Drifter and stuck with that for 3 terms.
Player 2: tried to be a Driver, succeeded, then failed Survival. Got drafted as a Soldier and stayed there for 3 terms.
Player 3: tried to be a soldier, succeeded, failed Survival. Made it as a Driver and stayed there for 3 terms.
Players 2 & 3 decided they are brothers (fashioned after Virgil and Turk from the Ocean's movies; constantly bickering). Player 1 is the brains/face of their operation. She's a con artist and talked the other 2 into working with her. One of them has an Ally Bandit Leader. They lure their mark to a scavenge site, get into a fake firefight with the bandits and run away, keeping their base pay for hazardous duty, then they scavenge the site with the bandits and split that loot.
That's their plan, at least.
