It sounds from the email like that was happening. Things were coming up (presumably from the GM) that would "test" hindrances, and once confronted with a situation where the hindrance would come into effect, an argument broke out.
I've played with this type of player.

ah I was semi-distracted during that part. Must've missed the point of it early on.

I am the GM for the Savage Worlds game the first email was about. After talking to the power gamer about Code of Honor and how that would affect him in the game he changed his mind and took something else. He has tried to get out of things in the past and still is doing his best to get out of more. Good thing is that he is not as smart as he thinks he is and I don't miss much.
Stu you're correct that an argument did break out and does anytime he misses in a fight. With him he is always underpowered if he can't break the earth open.
Also so you know it's a super hero game and of course he is not much of a hero.

IStu you're correct that an argument did break out and does anytime he misses in a fight. Wait, wait, wait. Hold on there. This player argues if he misses in combat? What does he do, yell at the dice? The GM can just point to the stats of his bad guy and say "He has a Parry of 7. Did you get a 7+? No? Then stop complaining and roll better next time." I can understand complaining if you roll like Stork and always miss, as that can get really frustrating after a while. From listening to the email, all I can say is this guy is an unreasonable munchkin who will only be happy when he is "winning". My suggestion is either just learn to deal with him, or give him the boot. You're not going to "fix" him, and trying to do so is a waste of time.

For real. I played with a guy like that once.
ONCE.
(that's right. Joe Piscapo, son. Johnny Dangerously FTW.)

And the best part?
That email gave me the push I needed to rerecord MinMaxed with new verse lyrics.

If he misses he will come up with something like he should get bonuses for this or that or the like. After I let him know what numbers and involved in the attack he then gets upset at the dice. His poor dice.
Last session he could not hit, he almost died because of it, so of course the villains were way over powered.

I know some players who get *very* frustrated when the rolls go against them (especially when they're having a ball rolling night).
That coupled with munchkinism?
lose.

The fun part is that we are all new to Savage Worlds and he and the merchant tried to min/max their characters. They both failed, utterly, and are now grasping at straws due to screwing up that try. It's rather fun to watch them almost melt down at the attempt. The merchant, not Mr. Code of honor, wants to make a new character because he is so can't do crap in my game. Too bad for them I run a heavy roleplaying game.

Even though you're rolling two dice in SW, the number swings are still pretty wild.
Word of warning: SW can be very breaky. Tappy made a character that one-punched a cyclops.
But in someways it's counterintuitive to munchkins -- sometimes having a LOWER skill (like a d4) is better than a higher skill because it will explode 25% of the time.

Stu is totally right. My son one-shot a dragon in the eye, while sliding on his back after a full sprint. I gave him as many negatives as I could and he still killed the thing.
Although breaky or not, it was pretty damn awesome!

Had an arcane spellcaster who could pretty routinely do a 9d6 attack by throwing all of his power points into it. That's a bunch of damage and with a 1 in 6 chance of exploding makes for a metric ton of damage and there's no save.
That said, the same can happen against the pc's as well.

I'm co GMing a super far future space game in SW, and those laser rifles are insane. If you can get your hands on a bunch of ammo, who the hell needs power points? 9d6 potential damage every turn? Insane. The power armor doesn't even matter anymore at that point.
That is why we are super strict about ammo in that game.

That actually illustrates the problem of giving the bad guys super cool shit in the game, you can bet your bippy that the pc's will end up with it and then where are you? JiB
