It's 250 Years after a civilization ending event, but the people don't know that. Oral history told of a great storm that ended mighty acts of magic, felling great monsters, and ending a horrible empire. In truth, a final showdown between the might of Magic and Machine ushered in a Dark Age where technology was forgotten, and with a couple short lived generations focused solely on survival, all memory of the uncanny technology of culture of old was lost.
The world is home of many secrets, and if any from the past were to look fully on the planet of Le'arth now, they would not recognize it. One continent completely reclaimed by nature after fallout removed all traces of man. The other, a spottedly populated world that sees some kingdoms just stepping out of the darkness to build kingdoms and empires of iron and magic, with some cities given their blood over to dark powers and fooling around with reclaimed technology without any true understanding of the danger and power they have. Where humans don't remember their beast-man heritage, and the children of the Fae, the ever surviving Eladrin and Naldushei, are no help with their long memories as they had separated themselves long ago. Those Elves; of Wood, River, Mountain, Stream or Elsewhere; that walked with man shared the same fate of forgotten knowledge and heritage, only their powerful adaptations saved them during the Storm and with their regional evolution they frequently outmatch local Humans, except for the men's superior endurance, tenacity, and quick learning. The Dwarves, birthed from the mountains themselves in their glittery Geode Eggs, have little memory of the time before the Storm as well. Only a handful survive and they keep their burden secret, some guarding ancient knowledge greedily. Without being pushed back, the Beastmen who avoided the Storm by being away from civilization, and hiding away, have flourished and they number now perhaps 1 to every 2 of the other races. They do limit themselves, however, do to ancient rivalries between each "Blood" the Pig-like Orcs, Ram-like Tarcs, Bird-like Kokra, and others. With this greater number, many have been able to overcome the violent image their kind have wrongfully aquired.
There are other beings that are not exactly living, or perhaps just not mortal. During the time since the Storm, the Fae, which gain their strength through the being able to claim land or people and very sundry oddities, took much of the world back and have become Godlike in their Strength. Though perhaps not necessarily vicious or malevolent by nature, they view mortals as little more than toys, commodities, or oddities and their fickle nature makes them dangerous. Don't make any agreement with one and never ever except any gift from them or you may find yourself mining, or fighting, or dancing, or painting day in and day out for all time unable to stop or rest unless it please them.
Come to Legacy, for Honor, Magic, Intrigue, or Exploration.
