Hlo I'm Forresst on the internet. I started listening to the show a little while back, it was right around the beginning of season 6. I really like gaming a lot, and sometimes I can even find a group. Anyway, I told some of my friends about the show and they like it too. And then I joined the forum today after the outburst on the latest episode and I didn't want to be that jerk. So hi

Hello,
I discovered the podcast near the beginning of Season 6, and in addition to listening to the new episodes, am about halfway through the old ones.
I've been gaming around 25 years, since my brother first brought home the Red Box. Have mostly played D&D, though I attempted Palladium a few times, mostly because of the TMNT books. I tried running a Palladium Superheroes game, but failed miserably, and then started a D20 Post Apocalyptic game, using the Darwin's World books. I chose that due to familiarity with the system.
I'm a big fan of the show, and it has really helped my GMing get better. It has also made me want to try lots of other systems, but I have a hard enough time scheduling and preparing for one game.

Hi, I'm Barrett.
I've been listening since early on in season 2. I was the one who introduced JiB to the podcast in the first place. You're welcome. ;D
I've been playing RPGs since high school. My mom bought me the D&D Red Box when I was 7, but I never got around to playing until I found the AD&D Manual of the Planes. Tried a lot in the middle. Rifts, Shadowrun (1E), Battlelords of the 23rd Century, Torg, etc. Something about D&D kept us around. Spelljammer, in particular.
I went through a dreadful (well, to put it simply) divorce about two years ago and *had* to find some *genuine* joy in my life, now that my marriage was toast. I went back to RPG gaming, first with 3.5, and then Pathfinder. It was like coming home.
I've been playing ever since. I like Pathfinder for that authentic D&D feel, and also am a big fan of Savage Worlds, in particular, Sundered Skies, although I think it's a little too deadly with wound penalties.
Good to be with you all.

Hi,
I'm Emil and I started listening last summer when one of my players recommended the show and caught up with you guys in October. Those long 3 hour episodes are really warming when you spend 8 hours a day inside a warehouse where the average temperature is around 1 degree Celsius:)
I'm listening all the way from Sweden, and most of my gaming is with a Swedish game called Eon, but you guys has made me pick up savage worlds and as of late I'm also itching to try out traveler. My short gaming career is only 2-3 years yet, but I'm working on increasing that number to the veteran stats a lot of people here seems to have.

I am Newsteinleo, my name is a composite of Newton, Einstein, and Galileo. I have been playing RPGs since I was 11 with The Star Wars RPS. I am a big fan of D&D 3.5 only because the Beguiler is sweet.
Right now I have no table to play at, but I am working on a home brew system. The home brew is for playing out Zombie apocalypses with many different ways to play. You can be an elite commando unit sent in to find survivors, or the Gym teacher and accountant armed with a baseball bat and a golf club. I hope to build something different than a lot of the systems already out there and to some day publish the game in some form.

Hello,
Name of Matt. I've played and run Savage Worlds, FATE, Mouse Guard, & Traveller for the past 7 years after rediscovering RPGs. Couldn't find players in the beginning so I decided to raise some and now game with some great kids. Exciting time to be an RPG fan as the the whole craft has greatly expanded the past ten years. I most enjoy anything science fiction so far.
Also, great show. I do listen on occasion.

Hello hello, making the obligatory intro post. I run Savage Worlds and D&D 4e and play in 3.5e, Star Wars Saga Edition, and ... hopefully FATE or Traveller sometime soon? Is that one L or two? I always mix it up.
I also used to play Neverwinter Nights multiplayer PnP-style games all the time, because it was the closest experience I could get to D&D without actually having the book or knowing people that also wanted to play. Sigh. The good ol' days.
Anyway. expect generally snarky comments from me in the future.

Hola Hola all,
I am Coffee Mike, and I'm new to the forums and the podcast. I was recommened this podcast by clanhanna. I started in 2004 with D&D 3.5 as a DM, and since then, I have ran 3e/3.5, Pathfinder, Deathwatch, a demo of Changeling: the Lost, and I currently work at my FLGS running 4e for newbies. As for non-pen and papers, I play 40k, Magic, and Warmachine.
My group mainly consists of Anime fans with the mentality that "killing everything in the room and looting it later" works in every game system. We run about 9 people for my normal gaming group and the newbie's night normally runs about 3-4 players.
Forever a DM (because most people around are afraid to try), almost never a player, Coffee Mike.

Konichiwa douchebags! I'm Chris from Osaka, though I'm originally from Philly. Yo! I really don't know why I haven't posted my little bio up here until now. I got turned onto the podcast towards the end of Season 3 thanks to Chris in Kobe, who is in my gaming group. Like runester, I also co-host a weekly podcast that has nowhere near the number of listeners nor female hosts as HJ's does. I started role-paying while I was in elementary school with the D&D Black Box, but it was mostly with my younger brother and sister. As the oldest of three, I didn't have anyone to introduce me to the game. I collected AD&D 2nd Edition and West End d6 Star Wars books through high school (because I could't find players) and played some D&D 3.x as well. Since coming to Japan in 2006, I've played D&D 4e (and gotten sick of it), Vampire: the Requiem and other WW games (which I love), FATE, Savage Worlds and Ubiquity. Recently though, I've been on a more narrative, indie system kick. I'm simply dying to run a game of Apocalypse World. In addition to RPGs I also enjoy boardgames and the Warmachine/Hordes miniatures game.

Hi all - maxinstuff here (max for short)
Have ploughed the backlog (exactly how it sounds) and as a result have spent all my moneys on Savage Worlds, GURPS and HERO. You douchebags.
After finishing the backlog I was reduced to fits of sobbing despair, down a dark alley, in the rain, masturbating furiously.
Look forward to participating in the douchery!

Hey all, I'm new around here. I've just started listening to HJ, I decided to bite off the "backlog" in small chunks, I started at season 7 ep1 and will be slowing filling my ipod from the beginning. I have to say I love the show, and the dynamic of the conversation. Your livecast and recap of OrcCon made me miss going to conventions. But now that I'm a card carrying member of the old fogeys club, with a wife, kids, dogs, mortgage, job and everything else, I don't get to do things like that much anymore.
I've been playing on and off for about 25 years, cut my teeth on TMNT and Other Strangeness back in Junior High, and I've played AD&D 2nd, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Starwars d6, Rifts and the rest of the Palladium "megaverse", and most recently D&D 4e. I never played 3.x or pathfinder except through PC games like Neverwinter and it's add-ons.
I'm feeling nostalgic for the old days of gaming a lot, and your podcast lets me at least live vicariously through you all. I'd like to explore some of the other systems you talk about, specifically Savage Worlds, I picked up the Deluxe in PDF and am going through it, but my small group does want to try it, and my luck on G+ has been mostly no-shows and talking to an empty room.
Anyway, I'm writing you now from Maryland, near the Mason-Dixon line and due north of DC. Hopefully soon I'll be in the land of Lovecraft, we're looking at homes in Ipswich and Scituate MA. It looks like gaming is much more alive up there than in my current area.
Anyway, I've rambled for enough. Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing more.

Greeting all,
I've been listening to the podcast for a few weeks now, long enough to listen to the entire backlog while at work.
I've never played Savage Worlds or GURPS, but both systems sound very interesting and versatile.
I've been DMing a D&D 4e game for about a year and a half, maybe a little more... We've ventured into Call of Cthulhu once already and we're starting in on another short adventure using a Top Secret mission from an old Dragon magazine with a bit of storyline from the Elephantmen comic thrown in.
I played AD&D and Basic/Expert back in middle and high school, but that was many moons ago.
I'll mostly lurk for DM advice and dropp some dumb questions every so often....

Greetings all! I recently figured that I should probably get back on the forums after making a brief appearance about 2-3 versions (of the forum) ago. As my personal message indicates, I am the person who wrote in around season 2 under the name Jayjader, I talked about Fireborn, the system set in present day London that has been brutally reintroduced to magic. The players are reincarnation of dragons from several millenia ago (when Atlantis existed), but the characters don't know it, only the players do. They sometimes have flashbacks, yadada. If you want to know more, go listen to the episode in question, or possibly pm me. Has anyone seen jayjader? I tried to use that nick, and got a "this username is already in use" notification. Bully you! Anyway, more about me: I'm currently living in France (I'm franco-american), and my gaming experience consists of a year or two of D&D Basic set with my younger brother about 7 years ago . I have read plenty of systems though, including: 4e (of course), Fireborn, Midnight, Some 3e, AD&D, and quite a few other I've forgotten. I'm in my senior year at high school, so you'd THINK next year I'd get a good chance to game. Not at all! I'm going to a strenuous two year period of scholastic cramming that exists solely in France, so I guess I'll have to wait a few more years to get the time to look for games. I've always fancied GMing, though I would enjoy playing a character (and, at this point, simply being a third person observer in a game would be heaven). I guess I will continue untill then to satisfy my gaming needs with Happy Jacks, and be more or less active on this forum depending on the load of work I have. Ah, the joys of school! Signing off 'till next time, Elfmellon.
