I was a week behind in my listening so didn't get to this episode till today. I had plenty of time for it as I was shoveling my way out of 8 inches of snow in single digit temperateness. That's when I hear Stork say "If it's cold and rainy, you know it's December".
Dear Stork,
Fuck you, douchebag! You do not get to use the word Cold in reference to weather that wouldn't kill you due to exposure.
Sincerely, All of us dumb asses who refuse to move somewhere warm.

As to the Kickstarter issues, I would suggest a show with someone who has run a successful KS project or 2..... Maybe even a game producer who has been invited to a Meet and Greet with Kickstrater co-founder Yancy Strickler.....
There were so many KS issues raised that I would love to address but don't have the time right now. One of the major things to keep in mind is that starting a KS project does not mean you will be successful or rolling in the dough. The KS success rate is 48% overall, for board, card, rpg, and computer games it is under 34%.
I completely agree that KS should be used in the final stages. When we launched our first KS project (Flapjacks & Sasquatches) there was no requirement for an end date. We were slower in delivering our game than we would have wanted. The whole experience was a learning. Our current project, is going much faster. Some of the expectations set by bigger companies that use KS as a pre-order can really skew peoples expectations. If they launch the KS as the product is on the boat coming over to the US they will be able to deliver WAY faster than some on like us.
In the end I hope a number of these things are simply KS growing pains. That I hope they can work out because on a fundamental level I love the power it gives to gamers and small game proudcers.
