I had a great time in the chat room during the show a couple days ago (until I unceremoniously passed out at the keyboard, of course). Lot of fun - for a while it's sort of parallel play, with the 'cast talking about one thing while the chat room chats about something else, then the conversation will flow so that the hosts and chat room are all discussing the same thing, and then back and forth.
Seemed like a decent amount of folks logged in too, maybe a dozen or so?

I definitely agree with the Mook. (Shouldn't we all ?) The show on Friday was really a shit ton of fun to both listen to and get involved in the chat. I really appreciate the effort the crew has gone to having someone available to keep what is going on in the chat a part of the show. My next suggestion (I have an unending quiver full) is to bring back the BLURB! I have a feeling that some (or many) new listeners to the show might be unaware of both the forums and how to access the chat room. Having the BLURB at the beginning of the show and the dedicated chat wrangler might get you a bigger crowd for the stream...it will be awesome CHAOS!

I try and listen live when I can. Friday nights are tough for me personally because after a long work week it's my time to crash. I've been in the chat quite a bit, and I'd probably be sad to see it go. I think the last few months where you guys missed a lot of casts and things were inconsistent had a major impact on people listening. Now that the holidays are over and things have gotten back to weekly shows, I think the listenership online should increase.

Friday's cast was great, I really liked having Geenah as the moderator. You guys let the chat room weigh in on things, but also let it freely have its own discussions as well. As a listener and fan of the show, I appreciate the effort put forth.

I've had internet problems since forever, so I can't usually be online when the show's streaming. However, I would if I could, and I keep hoping that someday I'll be able to do it regularly, so I hope you don't stop streaming.

Out of curiosity: how many people get anything out of the show being streamed live? Stu, you stream at 5:30am Saturday morning in Poland. My girlfriend would make my life difficult if I were so inconsiderate not to listen with headphones. The burps get loud as they reverberate right on my eardrum. I do not mind a nature call but I do notice when an impromptu belching contest involving the alphabet breaks out. The interaction “call in” aspect elevates the show above other quality podcasts. Keeping an eye on the chat and involving the listener is a good idea. I enjoy the call outs and the live listener comments read into the podcast by the hosts. The added benefit from being in the chat room at those moments is the talk in chat develops in real time like an actual conversation and there is the possibility of accessing a room full of knowledgeable people simultaneously. (Isn’t The Internet basically an audio environment?) The live broadcasts also help cement loyalty. That is the part about the burping that no one has mentioned as far as I can tell. The naturalness of bodily function sounds helps create the perception of honesty in the opinions shared. Allowing immediate listener response – regardless whether you agree or disagree with the arguments in response – to be part of your show is another very big part of creating that honesty. That’s why I awaken at 5:30 on a dark Saturday morning to listen in on headphones. Needlesstosay this is my opinion but it is an opinion, in my opinion, worth sharing unlike my other opinions.

I listen on the East Coast as well and I stay up as long as my body will allow to listen whenever I can.
To be honest, I think the people who get up insanely early, stay up insanely late, get up in the middle of the night, etc to listen to this podcast live... and interact with other listeners... is the biggest ball of awesome I've ever seen.

I LOVE listening to the stream! I listen on my iPhone on th strain ride home. Problem is unless you guys have a really long episode I usually just catch the last drunken rumblings and the song Not sure how to fix, but a chat client that was a bit more iOS friendly would make my day.
