I think the monsters are rad. I didn't back it. It caused much drama because of the cheesecake chicas. It's been entertaining to watch/read.

I know nothing about the game, didn't back it (as I didn't see it until it closed), but both the artwork and miniatures look fucking awesome. That being said, why the need for so much blatant female nudity? I mean, I know the reasons why (sex sells, doods like to look at boobs, nudity = "gritty"), but the makers of that game aren't helping to shake to image that us male gamers are just a bunch of misogynist pigs. The fact that some of those minis have detachable skirts and dresses showing off even more skin (to aid in the painting process, I'm sure) makes it even worse. If you're going to do nudity, at least balance it; either put the guys in "skank mail" too, or give the girls the same level of protection.

Hyve, its not just the females: The actual IN GAME player used miniatures have comparable amounts of armor for males and females. The thing is, the game comes with enough armor pieces to have 4 miniatures of EVERY TYPE in game. These include "day 1" models and "unarmored" models, so people will mix and match, sometimes making the female models look sluttier. Much of what is shown off to create controversy isn't actually part of the game anyway. Before it was a game, it was just a world created by Adam Poots and his group of artist pals. His inspirations included H. R. Geiger, who used lots of nudity to evoke emotion in the horror themes portrayed in his art. The art was around for almost a decade before the game came into being, the miniatures were created several years before it became a game too. What is getting all the press is the stuff that isn't the game, but was a seperate product line that came before it, meant specifically just for hobbyists. Really, much of the game is recycled pieces from previous art and resources they had before. He is still re-purposing miniatures for new expansions too. The game is pretty cool. Its not a dungeon crawl in the regular sense. It is more of a community "choose your own adventure" thing. There's almost no resources outside of what you can get by killing, so you fight these really powerful monsters, one at a time, in the hopes you get bones, skin, eyes, etc so you can craft things like buildings, weapons, and work through a technology tree. (EDIT) my 666th post is about Kingdom Death: Monster. Awesome.
