It's interesting but I think I'll stick with my litko stands for generic-insert-an-image style stands. A little cheaper and a little less bulky.
If I toss out cost and technical concerns, I think my biggest concern though is that the use of paper based stands visual detracts compared to minis these ultimately would detract further. They're cool, they just seem even more out of place to me.
Unless you game was in some sort of high tech setting. Then it might feel more right.

As much as I love minis, especially painting them, I've found I don't use them very often anymore. Even with my Savage Worlds campaign I've used minis once in six sessions. Its jsut easier, faster, and more fun for me to just describe things rather then slapping minis on the table.
