I tried using the Willpower mechanic in my playtest of Wild Talents this past Sunday, and trying to keep track of all the gains and expenditures really felt like it bogged things down. No one was familiar with the system, so for everyone it just seemed like one more thing to try to remember.
I know for Con games, Kimi doesn't bother with tracking or using Willpower. I can see how it can come in very useful in campaign settings, though. Is it really such an essential aspect of the game that it shouldn't be ignored?

When I ran a campaign of Wild Talents, I kept track of their Willpower gains and losses... they gained some, just rarely if ever used it unless it was tied to a power. *shrug*

How are you (and the players) using it? It doesn't seem to be that difficult to deal with... you do something cool, gain a point. Need an extra die, spend a point. It's +1's and -1's. Maybe have a printout of the 2 pages on how to gain/spend Willpower at the table would be helpful. Here's a decent cheat sheet: www.arcdream.com/pdf/wtcheat3.pdf

My game died a long long time ago, but I printed out cheatsheets for everyone at the time. We spent a good amount of time coming up with their triggers(forget what they are called), and I spent a decent amount of time triggering them for various people. Most people picked up willpower fairly regularly, the only ones that ever used it though used it when their abilities required it. *shrug* I don't know.
