And having been through this first conplanner set up I am becoming more aware of the problem of their being NO BREAKS between some games. Shit! If every slot had been filled it would have been just crazy. I think I envisioned more players and the danger of one games group being needed in the next didn't seem a problem. Now? Yikes. I'm glad to take :15-20 out of my game to let the players take part in the roundtable. The biggest problem with virtual cons we don't all get to hangout in a bar before/after/DURING the con. Drinkin' at home sittin at the computer...(country song there somewhere). Wearing no pants . . . Aaron

My playtest was done in 3:30, and though that's no guarantee of future performance, I'd be willing to aim to end early to attend the round table. The biggest problem with virtual cons we don't all get to hangout in a bar before/after/DURING the con. Drinkin' at home sittin at the computer...(country song there somewhere). Shucks, and I had to give up drinkin' alone and in public 6 years ago. Stoopid alcoholism.

Yeah I was envisioning getting Not to Study done in 3.5 hrs. Again a big plus of Google+ (see what I...ANYWAY!) is the ability to have pre-gens and game prep taken care of before players ever get to the invisible, Lawn Mower Man "Virtual Table".
Kinda bummed I don't get to play in your FATE game Houndin...hope you will run it again in a FEW DAYS!! time (no it just doesn't have the same sense of drama).
Although funny to see that now my Warhammer game is cancelled there is now only ONE game on Friday. And that one was a real tooth puller to get players for...
Friday may just be a bad game day.
Although honestly my first interest in having this con at all was just simply to get to socialize with other members of the Happy Jacks audience. Sitting in on the chatroom and playing various games with Jackers has lead me to believe that Stu and crew created a 'my kinda role playing gamer' magnet. So, roundtables, chatroom lobbies or in games it will be nice to "Hang Out" (See what...NEVERMIND!) with all you fine folks.
Cheers,
Curt J.

The roundtable discussions both straddle either gameslot 8&9 (12-4 & 4-8 pm) and gameslot 10(8-12). It might be entertaining for the GMs in those games (Me and Houdin in 8, Muntjack in 9 slot) and Hyvemynd (10 slot) to take 10-15 min from their respective slots to chime in the round table. Just a thought. I'm cool taking time from my slot to join in the round table discussion. Dunno how much I'll be able to contribute though, as my game will start afterwards and I won't be able to watch any other games. Still, it'd help make sure my G+ stuff is set up correctly.

Kinda bummed I don't get to play in your FATE game Houndin...hope you will run it again in a FEW DAYS!! time (no it just doesn't have the same sense of drama). I do like how in online gaming so much prep and even game interaction / character introductions can happen 'away from the table' as it were. Sadly there aren't a lot of meatspace players near where I live so, short of a 1-2 hour drive, online is my only real gaming option other than gaming with my kids. I'm not sure if I'm going to run this particular game again. It's kind of funny, I think this is the first time I've ever play-tested a game in my 25+ years of gaming, and my mind is already moving on to other ideas. I would be glad to run another one-two shot of FAE or Core for ya, and anyone else who's interested, if you'd like. It'll just take me a little time to prep. Although funny to see that now my Warhammer game is cancelled there is now only ONE game on Friday. And that one was a real tooth puller to get players for... Friday may just be a bad game day. So, roundtables, chatroom lobbies or in games it will be nice to "Hang Out" (See what...NEVERMIND!) with all you fine folks I have noticed that Fridays are hard to game on. I guess having to commute kills it. I really should try to jump in the chatroom more often, it just usually starts around my bedtime.

That's exactly what happens to me when I playtest an adventure. "Well, that story's told, I wonder where it should go from there..."

So I have a question. I'm setting up the G+ Hangout for my Dungeon World game. I'm making it an On Air Hangout, but am unsure of how to invite people. Is there a way that I can invite everyone in the Happy Jacks group? Should I even do that? Or should I only send invitations to the players in my game? If the Hangout is On Air, that means anyone and everyone can watch right? Speaking of players, could tomes, maxinstuff, and guitarspider send me PMs with their G+ contact information? That way I can be sure everyone gets an invite.

When you go On Air and start broadcasting, you're given the URL for the YouTube so anybody not in the hangout can watch live. So put that URL in there when you share the event.

Can we see these things? I just went on to G+ so I could perhaps see an event in progress but I find no way of doing that.

The easiest way to invite your players is to post your event to the Happy Jacks community Events Page Make sure you go to the advanced options and set it up as On-Air when you're creating the event otherwise it won't be on youtube. That way you don't need to know your players' names, they will find you. Just like at a real con! Then when the event starts you will get a url, and it will automatically post publicly on your stream. (which you can open in another window and re-share it to the community)

I must have missed the URL when we started, hence the confusion with sharing our game. Also a few other lessons I've learnt already: 1. Sharing material to an event doesn't seem to be as simple as I expected so having the URL as mentioned above would be handy. 2. Time zones - I'm wondering if it would be an idea to list everything in UTC in addition to PMT as it seems the time zones have caused some confusion. Wonder if we could get the Conplanner people to add that function in for use with virtual conventions. 3. If you've got a basic how to play / rules sheet make it available beforehand.

OK. I've made a G+ event in the Happy Jacks RPG Podcast Community. JackerCon 2013: DW: The Lost Temple-City of Xtylos Apologies to people who already to clicked to attend the old event. I figured it would be easier to find if it was in the HJ Community page.

I plan to broadcast and record Just a Little Boat Ride though that may be a crazy plan.

I plan to broadcast and record Just a Little Boat Ride though that may be a crazy plan. JiB I don't think you need to? I THINK that making it 'on-air' streams it and uploads it to the google-cloud or teh youtubez or whatever in one fell swoop. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. This is the internet after all
