During JackerCon2013 I had many fantastic conversations with many people from HJ community. One of the topics that came up was the fact that some people who have jumped in to RPGs recently have not had the chance to experience D&D4e or use the books that they have purchased. I offered to run a 1-2 shot of a D&D4e Essentials game for a couple of these guys. To that end, I'll be running it online via G+ Hangout and Roll20 at a time convenient to both East Coasters and Europeans, since guitarspider was the one who convinced me to run it in the first place (blame him!) and he's on the other side of the pond from me. So I offer to all in HJ community the chance to prove to the world that roleplaying can be possible in D&D4e DURING COMBAT! <gasp!> But seriously, It'll be a few hours of fun with some HJ listeners. An echo of Jackercon if you will. No splat books, No dragon magazine, just the core 5 for Essentials and some maps from Dyson Logos, because I like them. Heroes of the Fallen Lands Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms Rules Compendium Dungeon Master's Kit Monster Vault So if you've never had the chance to play it, or just like a bit of tactics with your combat, sign up. we're looking for 3 players to round out the party to 5.

Depending on when I'd be interested. About time my Essentials books saw some use.

We're totally going to macrame-weave that combat. On a more serious note, those maps look great!

I'd be willing to join you, depending on when you schedule the game.

ok. So we're up to 4 players at this point. @whodo, moonday, and guitarspider with his +1 I can party with that. What times are good for people? I have an easier time on the weekend than weekdays (like most people) I'm think in EDT zone (GMT-4) so where are you guys? I could do an afternoon game here (3-7 was my slot for Jackercon and it worked well it seemed. I could go earlier or later though (with sign-off from the family of course) Start thinking of the role your character would play, and how they would fit in it: Defender, Striker, Leader or Controller are the 4e roles. If you're unfamiliar, they generally translate to Meatshield, DPS, Healer, AOE but not always. I have a non-standard world I use for my fantasy and I'll post a blurb in a bit.

I and the player from my group are in GMT+1. The spot you had at Jackercon would fit us perfectly (in general, it may not always work out depending on the day).
Also I've wanted to play a healer for a while, so I if nobody objects I call dibs.^^

I'm in EDT as well. Sundays work best for me, but I could do Friday or Saturday nights if I have time to plan for it. If you're meaning 3-7 pm PMT (6-10pm my time), that slot would be fine with me.
I'm not too picky about what I play. I'll let everyone else choose what they want, and I'll take what's left over to best round out the party.

That sounds like a cleric in the making if ever I heard one...but then again its 4e.

Believe it or not, I usually say that and I very rarely end up with the cleric! That was actually the first class claimed here.

The FATE spot was 12-4pm PDT, which translates to 21pm-01am for me. That is kind of the latest we Europeans can play under normal circumstances. Should be afternoon if you're Eastern, but I've no idea as to what hour exactly.
