Has anyone tried running a superheroes game in fate? I'm curious to see if it's worth trying or if I should just teach my group how to play Savage Worlds or Hero.

I have played super heroes for a while and never in fate. But if you get the new Fate System Toolkit, also pay-what-you-want, there's a wealth of advice on playing superheroes.

Yeah, the Toolkit has some advice and rules for running supers. In Fate Worlds Volume 1, the setting Wild Blue is a worked example of supers.

An additional resource, which is pretty slick. www.rpgnow.com/product/127246/Venture-City-Stories--A-World-of-Adventure-for-Fate-Coreit's pay what you want, I chipped in $4, and think it's worth every penny. It's basically a module, but has a setting and supers rules for FATE core. The layout is slick and the art is good. Plenty of sample supers as well. I think it came our of evil hat's Patreon project. Now I have another thing to go look up.
