You can thank the busted ass exchange rates. American minimum wage is 7.50 an hour. In Australia it's 16.75 an hour. And yet the exchange rate is almost dollar for dollar. It just isn't a proper reflection of real value, so I buy all my game stuff in USD Don't be shy people, throw a few tax deductible bux in for a good cause. Every monopoly dollar counts. Don't forget when Thatcher and Reagan were running around deregulating the banks to foster the 'Greed is Good' road to economic growth Paul Keating said "no, that's just a disaster waiting to happen" - here we are 20 years later post disaster and Oz faired better than most economies because it's banking sector was still, comparatively, regulated. The minimum wage in Oz may be excessive in some respects but it reflects how robust it's economy is compared to the likes of the UK (and in spite of the protestations of the home media). Plus charity is rewarded in Oz as a tax deduction. Question: does America give similar incentives eg: donations being directly tax deductible? Aaron It is tax deductible in America - as far as I understand. Actually, America has the highest per capita charitable donations in the world

I matched $280 dollars (US) in donations today. Apparently I also owe 250 Wallaby paws and an unclear amount of walrus blubber. Uh, look for those in the mail, Stu. (mmm . . . grilled walrus blubber. Don't forget your fire extinguisher!) Thanks all! I'll do it again next year.
