I read Fate Accelerated Edition recently, and an idea sprang to mind about incorporating the loose Approaches, Aspects, and Stunts of FAE into Fiasco.
My Fiasco group has from time to time found that simply having Good or Bad scene endings to be a little limiting and difficult to use when we want to determine if something happens mid-scene; something like a Skill Roll would be useful for. Having read FAE it seems like the Fiasco Needs and Relationships could fill in the Aspects and Trouble slots and Approaches could be used for any Skill Rolls we'd want to do.
This seems like it would make the Setup and the game a little longer, since now you have to write down Approaches, the occasional Roll to make, & potential Combat, but still have the Fiasco intense plot drive through Scene Dice.
It seems that FAE is intended for short-lived games, which is exactly what Fiasco is; so it kinda fits what I'm after.
Any thoughts on this or if anyone has tried it?
