I shall prepared to be amazed and astounded by the auditory awesomeness of a two hour MATHS discussion. .

In the series Sliders, John Rhys Davies said "Maths."

Well in the UK it's maths and in the US it's math . . . in Australia it's both. Aaron

We've an ad in the UK, two companies have joined together - one US one UK. The US rep says math and the UK rep quietly corrects him with maths. I imagine the US is like OZ - it depends on where you're from in the US. But neither iteration is 'wrong'. Aaron

I'm American, but I've always liked the sound of "maths" because you can't actually do much with just one.

Now I understand why the advantage/disadvantage system was create for FIFTH edition. 5th edition…5 points on a pentagram…no matter what you roll, it's always advantage Satan. In 6th edition they'll switch from d20 to a 3d6 system so the highest roll will always be 666. Overlay figures 1 and 2 and you can almost see The Devil trying to cover his horns with a bell-curve-shaped cowl.

The logic behind math is it is an abbreviation of mathematics ie: not mathsmatics. Math is singular or plural. I said this one would get everyone hopping Again there is no actual grammatical rule to support either use. Just like the rules of grammar concerning the use of an apostrophe vary from region to region (and that's just in the UK - cause Stephen Fry said so on QI and he's usually right, he has a team of researchers on hand to make him so after all) Aaron
