No problem at all!! I love offering solutions. I'm the idiot who spends an hour or two making quick-reference guides and tables for things just based on "hmmm. I might need to improvise one day, this will be easy!". I also love telling gaming stories. I know most people around here aren't much fans of Rifts but all the coolest WTF moments come from those games ^.^

Share... stories? Or solutions? Solutions: you know how sometimes, a critical failure should just be something hilarious but you can't figure out what should happen? docs.google.com/document/d/1bCiWCPHe14qAUeOPQ6TbA7KJQqu4l15fLMeQ3rjQqw8/edit?authkey=COL98sgJ This ugly long link is the locally-infamous critical fumble effects table. It was originally conceived for Rifts, I altered it for D&D4, and now everyone can see how sometimes there's a bear hat! As for stories, maybe I will make a new thread for it and stop hijacking the advice here

Funny thing is, I have the same debate with myself on the Tablet. I know that is all I will ever use it for, but it would still be nice. I do rock Acrobat Reader + dropbox on my phone, and it works surprisingly well for those quick, crap I need to look up the rules and my laptop is off...Of course my phone is almost a tablet anyway with a 4.5 inch screen so maybe I already have a tablet? I've thought about this a lot because I know I'm going to have to replace my laptop sometime this year, so I could ... Get a replacement laptop and just keep doing what I've been doing Get a desktop and a tablet and use the tablet for things like email and pdf stuff etc but I also have a smartphone on which I actually do most of my email and social networking stuffs ... Gaaaaahhhhhhh !!!! Brain hurts JiB So as luck would have it, for my 10th work anniversary they gave me a free gift. I little 8inch Android Tablet. It's not a great tablet by any means. It didn't even come with the Android Marketplace (this has been resolved with a little virtual elbow grease!). But now I am happily running Dropbox, Acrobat Reader, and google Hangouts.....So next chance I run a game using the bad boy, I'll let ya know the results!

Yet another update concerning the Kindle Fire: Although displaying PDF's is not it's strong suit, I think I might have found a way around that (at least partially.) Now that our Savage Worlds game is over, one of my players has agreed to GM a Pathfinder game that he's been wanting to jump into for a while now. I was excited to get back into it, since that's kind of our "home" system, but was definitely not looking forward to carrying around that big Core Rulebook.
Enter the Pathfinder SRD! It displayed beautifully on the Fire in landscape mode, and it includes just about everything in most of the books that I'm aware of. Better yet, it's searchable, which makes it really easy to find and pick feats and spells. The major caveat here is that you'll need wifi to access it. Unfortunately, this is only useful for systems that have their rulesets posted online, and won't help you out if the material that you need is outside of the realm of rules (i.e: not useful for setting info, personally prepared documents, etc.) but my Fire has now become invaluable to me for Pathfinder gaming!

Do the android tablets come with googly docs? Because most of my personally prepared info is all on googly docs. If I can get to that, I'm good.

I do wish there were more RPG specific apps for it, but access to IPlay4E, and my PDFs makes life a lot easier
