Basically I think of the Rebels as having gone through any number of careers but it's their passion to fight the Empire that unites them. Actual "Rebel Training Camps" could be represented in a few other careers, depending on when the game is set. Obviously if you're playing during Old Republic, a lot of the skinning needs different names.

Pretty much every iteration of Star Wars RPGs have included the StimPak; a simple device any dummy can use for limited healing, not as good as a medkit. I was thinking of implementing one, and I'm thinking it would recover Endurance only, either 1d6 or maybe just a straight 3 points per use. Perhaps also with a diminishing returns (without a 24 hour break of using one, the first heals 3, the 2nd 2, and the 3rd 1).
It could get a character up and going again, but without medical aid to recover Str or Dex loss, they'll still be in danger if another fight ensues.
Thoughts?

Is endurance the first stat you take when taking wounds? The diminishing return features in ffgs Star Wars game, though I think in this case it's probably unnecessary as you are only allowing recovery of endurance anyway

Yes, Endurance goes first, then either Str or Dex. I'm in an Edge of the Empire game as well, which is what made me think of it. I definitely wouldn't want them to heal everything, or folks would just stock up on them for cheap n easy healing, which would change the feel of Traveller; that's what led me to think just End and adding a deminishment.

Minor rules clarifications:
Per Traveller, movement is 6 meters, not 6 hexes. A Hex is 1.5 meters, so movement would be 4 hexes. A very minor bit, and this helps Arapto close the distance and get in saber range faster. (In the APs it sounds like they move 6 hexes)
Aiming takes a Quick(Minor?) Action, not a turn. Since you can turn your Major Action into 2 Minor Actions (and you also get 1 Minor action), in one turn you can get +3 to your next shot, and it only takes 2 turns to get to the maximum +6. Again, not a major thing, but makes aiming quicker and more consequential than only +1 per turn. Also, one could then not move, but aim and shoot in the same turn (at +1).
Both of these are not very consequential and can be easily be ignored without too much game effect.

Re: SWT Starships / Space Combat ?
Dear Bill,
Fantastic and inspiring work on Star Wars Traveller ! Just a question though, and I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere - what about starship / space combat rules ? Are you using the default MGT rules, or do you also have conversions ? Default MGT rules for starships would be a bit of a difficult fit, given that the OTU ships I guess would generally be bulkier that SW vessels given the former's massive hydrogen fuel storage requirements. Also, OTU space combat tech places prominence on sandcasters, which you don't find in the SW universe.
Many thanks !
Gary

I'm hoping he takes my conversion for a spin. I did it for my game, but haven't tested them yet. We play again this Friday, but I highly doubt there will be space combat. But maybe he's done something else. Either way, I'm curious.

I m in the midst of trying to nail down good space combat rules. It's one of the areas I haven't done as much work and I think the game suffers a bit from there not being good ship-to-ship combat.

Hey Bill!
This is my first post on the boards ever, and I wanted to thank you for your conversion. In addition to possibly running my own Star Wars Traveller game, you've also inspired me.
I am in the midst of creating a Traveller ruleset to use in creating a game in The Elder Scrolls setting.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration.

Those SHINY! Fantasy Flight X-wing minis have made space combat a very fun part of our Edge of the Empire games. The rules are very fast and cinematic which again is that "space opera" style of Star Wars we are going for. Where with Traveller combat they might be called X-Wing and Y-Wings but the grittiness of it all might seem a bit more like this...
Man I love that video. I just fucking love it! Who wouldn't want to join the Empire after seeing that shit?!!?

How "sexy" Bill Roper ? I mean if someone were to have some sort of inside information about an upcoming film would they say that oh I don't know...Kylo Ren is in fact not Sith but more of a Darth Vader fan boy ?!! The internet wants to know!!

I talked about using X-Wing Miniatures combat for a space battle after I watched that video.
I tried it out and this was the result. At first things seemed to be going well. The characters all had interesting pilot abilities based on what they were good at. I also worked some rivalries into the character backgrounds so they had fun trying to one up each other. Unfortunately the fight took 3 hours with 5 players. There might be something to salvage from it, but by the end it was just too tedious to keep the characters role playing.
