Hi there fellow jackers..
Im starting at traveller campaign in the firefly universe, and was think on adding bennies.
bennie use: reroll, add 1 to roll...other suggestions??
I am incorporating guns (weapons) from borderlands 2, since the look amazing. Just for the looks mind you.
Also I cannot find cool bennies (was thinking on getting mahjong pieces but the are insanely overpriced, and cannot seem to find any nice coins...would love to get that firefly feel.. Eu store would be nice, or prices below 12$ (denmark have a great postal service who likes to peek in items worth more than 12$, and for taht nice little service I have to pay them 30$ )
Good show!!!!

I use These and they are thrown into something like This except its a goblet not a cup. The end effect is pretty cool with a skull full of gems.

Find someone with a 3d Printer, bung them the cost of filament (which will very cheap)and a litle bit extra for time, and create your own bespoke bennies - probably more than you eat and then some. For 'Firefly' I'd suggest a 'dual extrusion' model ie: using two differently coloured plastics in the same print job - that way you could have, for example, a credit disc in one colour with a Chinese symbol inlayed in another colour . . . Hi again
I have just had a thought....(it happens)
New bennie distbution: Add DM for skills and stats. Make a list from high to low
Player 3: 6 Player 2: 4 Player 1: 8
The players have a pool of 3 bennies pr player (3 playes gives 9 bennies total) and then divide between the players so the better you are the less lady luck Will help you Player 1: 2 bennies Player 3: 3 bennies Player 2: 4 bennies
The reason behind is to help my, not overly fond of randomness, group to equal a little more out...
Good idea???

I didn't understand "Add DM for skills and stats"... I read Dungeon Master, but that isn't right.

How about these sort of things for bennies: Chinese good luck coinsEdit: Crap. Just noticed you already mentioned coins so you probably already saw this sort of thing. Leaving the post anyway just in case.

I toyed with adding bennies to Star Wars Traveller but decided with al the other new stuff I had to track, I'd put it aside for now. The areas I looked at being able to use bennies for were:
1. Re-roll you last roll. 2. Allow another person to re-roll their last roll. 3. Add 1d6 to a roll and take the highest again the target # of dice (this is a bit like L5R in terms of roll 3/keep 2)

You could use latex blue gloves as bennies. Or for whatever... ?

And I think bennies work in any system with a random result in the mechanics. So otherdoc will have to find other ways to keep Miss Amber happy... But bennies as a reward for player participation in between sessions has been very successful. Our Star Wars game had lots of unanswered questions about their characters backgrounds after we did a group character gen session full of leading Apocalypse World style questions. Now each week after the game I can ask "So you lost your starship in a gambling night you can barely remember...but now your memories starting to come back...tell me about it." Using play by post character development makes our face to face games ever the shinier!
