Gateway 2015 Announcements

Hello fellow RPG fanatics! This is Jim Sandoval your RPG Supervisor at Strategicon. I have some exciting announcements about our Gateway convention coming up in 6 weeks!
First of all, I am happy to announce that we have been moved out of the Plaza Ballroom in the lower lobby to the 2nd floor in the San Lorenzo rooms adjacent to registration, Pathfinder Society and Adventurers League. For those of you who LARP, they will be moved to the 3rd floor in rooms along the courtyards.
For those of you who have experienced the various challenges with the lower lobby space I thank you for your loyalty and perseverance. Many of you are already familiar with the smaller rooms up stairs and I am hoping that everyone will agree that it will be a vast improvement for the department in general. An added benefit of the change is expanding our always over crowded open gaming area.
There are a few down sides though. Firstly, I am losing a couple of tables. These rooms are relatively small and can really only fit 2-3 tables each depending on the floor plan. Overall, I do not think it will affect us too much, but space availability during our peak hours (Sat. 2pm & Sun. 2pm) may be affected and if so I may be forced to put some games in the overflow area I have down in Plaza B. Secondly, it is going to be difficult to impossible for me to have a single room available for things like sound enabled games with a more compact space during certain times. Once again, I will do my level best to get you everything you need, but I ask for some understanding on the matter. I will still most likely be able to accommodate you guys, but with greater difficulty during our peak slots. I will be suspending the Games on Demand initiative until I have a firm grip on the space and its usage, but this is just a suspension not an elimination.
Our new HQ will be in the boardroom between Plaza E and F.
Starting Orccon, we will have RPG books available for loan at the Games Library. I have collected some books from some very kind donors and we will be working to expand what we have available as we go. Anyone with any spare RPG books that they would like to donate can do so at either the RPG HQ or directly to the Games Library, both on the 2nd floor.
To our GMs. If you go to the Strategicon website and click on Events – Events Needing GMs you can find a list of games that our attendees have requested. If you are ever stuck on what you want to run and can’t come up with anything, look here. We appreciate your support on this matter as does the community at large. Currently being requested are sessions of the new Elemental Evil adventures for D&D 5th, Star Wars: Edge of the Empire and Vampire the Masquerade: 2nd Edition.
I hope that everyone is as excited about Gateway as I am. I am looking forward to seeing you all and sharing our new space.
